Your role at DynatraceWe are looking for a motivated and experienced systems engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in designing, operating, and improving our on-premise and cloud-connected continuous integration environments. - Design, operate, and improve our on-premise and cloud-connected continuous integration environments. - Own and evolve our Ansible-based configuration management at scale, including developing and maintaining roles, playbooks, and standards for reliable system provisioning and updates, as well as building and maintaining reusable Packer base images. - Build and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, and contribute to Kubernetes-based platforms where applicable. - Lead and support the design and initial setup of our OpenStack-based private cloud environment, including integration with surrounding systems, automation, and operations. - Contribute to secure and efficient operations in on-premise data center, while also supporting workloads and services running in AWS and other cloud environments. - Collaborate closely with product, platform, and security teams to ensure our infrastructure is stable, observable, and ready to scale. What will help you succeedWe are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in systems engineering and a passion for automation and cloud technologies. A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role. - 3+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer (or a similar infrastructure-focused role) in larger or complex environments. - Solid system engineering skills, including Linux administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance tuning. - Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management in medium to large environments (roles, inventories, CI integration, and best practices). - Strong teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to document and automate what you build. - Experience with OpenStack or strong interest and willingness to learn it. Prior work with other private cloud platforms is a plus. - Basic knowledge of infrastructure as code and container platforms; Terraform and Kubernetes experience is a strong plus. - Experience working in on-premise data center environments. AWS or other public cloud know-how is a plus. - Familiarity with observability tools (such as Dynatrace or similar) is a plus. Role Description The System Engineering & Integration Team (SE&IT) is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the System Design and Requirements Capability team in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will support cross-functional teams to develop system level architecture and requirements to influence Missile Defense Agency (MDA) incremental capability. The candidate will use Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to evaluate architectural impacts through functional and behavior analysis for the defeat of conventional and advanced Threats (i.e., ballistic, aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.) systems within the MDA mission areas.
