Senior Commercial Counsel

Solutus Legal Search

• Support the go-to-market team by reviewing and negotiating customer contracts. This role will support the Americas and APAC. • Lead complex cross-border transactions with sophisticated counterparties across multiple jurisdictions. • Monitor and advise on relevant regulatory, compliance, and legal developments. • Provide training, maintain and update policies and templates, and develop and improve scalable workflows to support and enable the company’s growth.

Job Requirements

  • Strong academic credentials and membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, with strong training at a top-rated national or international law firm. Law firm and in-house experience at a high-growth technology company is preferred.
  • Proven experience drafting, negotiating, and closing complex commercial software and SaaS agreements with enterprise customers, partners, and resellers across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of commercial legal issues related to SaaS and software licensing, professional services, and other go-to-market programs.
  • Excellent judgment, strong business orientation, and ability to translate legal risk into practical commercial advice.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and management skills and the ability to build trust with sales teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and customers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
  • Experience supporting a high-growth infrastructure SaaS company is a plus.
  • Experience supporting APAC is a plus.

OTHER FUNCTIONS: - Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Juris Doctor from an accredited law school required. - Active membership in the applicable state bar required. - Five or more years of Property & Casualty insurance legal experience preferred. - Experience with insurance regulatory compliance, market conduct, underwriting, claims, or product matters preferred. - Familiarity with privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, or technology‑enabled risk in a regulated industry. - Strong knowledge of state and federal insurance regulatory frameworks. - Ability to analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and regulatory guidance. - Sound legal judgment under conditions of regulatory ambiguity. - Ability to balance legal rigor, enterprise risk, and business execution. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive‑level presence. - Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. - High degree of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
