Role Description The role of an Apprenticeship Assessment Assessor is to provide independent, fair, reliable, and consistent assessment services to Training Qualifications UK customers working with Apprenticeship Standards. This role requires someone who is flexible in their approach to all tasks, with the independence to travel as and when the business requires. The successful post holder will be responsible for delivering an agreed caseload of Assessments and supporting the training and standardisation of freelance associate Apprenticeship Assessment Assessors. - Teaching Assistant Level 3 - Specialist Teaching Assistant Level 5 - Learning and Skills Teacher Level 5 - Learning and Skills Assessor Level 3 - Early Years Level 2 and 3 - Early Years Lead Practitioner Level 5 Key Responsibilities - Manage assigned caseload to ensure all stages of the Assessment journey are completed in a timely and to the expected standard. - Deliver outstanding Assessment services to assigned Apprentices and Employers. - Undertake Assessment activities with integrity and impartiality. - Produce accurate, appropriate and well-informed assessment feedback/written reports. - Maintain an excellent working knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards and Assessment Plans relevant to the sector areas. - Engage with internal quality assurance processes. - Participate in moderation, standardisation and development activities. - Support the development and delivery of training for freelance associate Apprenticeship Assessment Assessors. - Contribute to the review and growth of new assessment material and learning resources. - Develop and maintain an understanding of Training Qualifications UK internal policies and processes. - Adhere to high levels of confidentiality. - Provide advice and responses to questions relating to specified apprenticeship standards. - Requirement to travel with access to own transport. Quality Assurance & Compliance - Sample assessments using a risk-based approach. - Ensure assessment judgements are fair and reliable. - Support preparation for and response to EQA visits. - Escalate concerns relating to malpractice or non-compliance. Professional Standards & Development - Maintain current knowledge of apprenticeship standards and regulatory frameworks. - Demonstrate integrity, impartiality, and a commitment to CPD. - Share best practice examples and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. - Responsible for maintaining ongoing CPD relevant to assessment and internal quality assurance practices. Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications - Assessor qualification (D32/D33, A1, TAQA, or equivalent). - Internal Quality Assurance qualification (D34, V1, or equivalent). - Functional Skills Level 2 (English and Maths). - Childcare qualification Level 3 or above. - Recent experience in classroom-based practice and childcare settings. - Minimum 2 years’ competence-based interviewing experience within the last 5 years. - Proven assessment and QA experience, including sampling and feedback. - Understanding of safeguarding, duty of care, EDI, and regulatory frameworks. - Excellent written/verbal communication and report-writing skills. - Confident in stakeholder engagement and presenting professional judgement. - Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and to deadlines. - Commitment to ongoing CPD.
