Title: Mobile SDET (Mid) Job Description: Job#: 3031467 Job Description: Mobile SDET Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Employment Type: Contract Role Overview This role requires a Software Development Engineer in Test to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for iOS and Android mobile applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and execute testing strategies that meet quality standards. This position is a contract role with a hybrid work model, requiring an onsite presence 3-4 days a week in Austin or Southlake, TX. Key Responsibilities - Work on full-cycle mobile app development on iOS and Android platforms. - Develop and maintain functional test automation scripts for mobile applications using Appium with Java. - Ensure automation is constantly running, analyzing results, promptly reporting metrics, and raising failures. - Create detailed, actionable reports with screenshots and videos upon failures. - Analyze mobile app requirements to create and execute automation test scripts. - Handle iOS simulator and Android emulator configurations, including cloud-based and/or real-device testing. - Work effectively within Agile teams, liaising with product owners and scrum masters to plan and accomplish test automation goals. Required Qualifications Experience: - 3+ years in mobile application development. - 4+ years of experience in developing and executing automated test scripts and maintaining test automation frameworks. - Expertise with full-cycle mobile app testing including UI, functional, compatibility, usability, and accessibility testing. - Experience developing and executing UI tests on XCUITest (iOS) and Espresso (Android). - Exposure to performance testing by monitoring memory usage, battery drain, and CPU usage during UI tests. - Experience maintaining scripts and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Technical Skills: - Hands-on coding experience with the Appium framework using Java for developing end-to-end mobile app automation tests. - Proficiency in using platforms like Sauce Labs or Perfecto for cloud-based device testing. - Familiarity with iOS and Android mobile operating systems, authentication methodologies, app settings, device configurations, and debugging network requests. - Working knowledge of industry-standard tools such as JIRA/MTM and Zephyr/HPQ for logging bugs and managing test cases. - Knowledge of test case design, test automation best practices, and Lean DevOps methodologies for execution and reporting. - Experience with tools like GitHub for CI/CD integration. Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with Swift or Kotlin programming languages for iOS/Android mobile app development. - Understanding of working with RESTful APIs. - Exposure to using AI-assisted tooling like CoPilot to maximize productivity. - Financial or trading services industry experience.
