Role Description The Staff Accountant supports the financial operations of a multifamily property management portfolio. This role is responsible for accurate general ledger maintenance, monthly property-level financial reporting, bank reconciliations, and coordination with onsite teams. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working within Entrata and Yardi, with at least two years of financial accounting experience. Key Responsibilities - Prepare property-level journal entries including accruals, amortizations, recurring charges, and reclasses. - Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly for assigned properties. - Review property operating activity for proper coding. - Monitor and reconcile security deposits, prepaid rent, delinquency, and tenant ledger balances. - Execute month-end close for assigned properties. - Generate monthly financial packages including income statements and balance sheets. - Pull and validate data from Entrata and Yardi. - Review resident transactions, rent charges, concessions, and payments. - Prepare and reconcile monthly bank statements. - Assist with payables processing weekly. - Support audits, lender reporting, and compliance. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. - Minimum of 2 years of financial accounting experience. - Experience in property management accounting. - Proficiency with Entrata and Yardi. - Understanding of GAAP and general ledger structure. - Strong Excel skills. Requirements - High attention to detail. - Ability to meet monthly deadlines. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to troubleshoot Entrata and Yardi issues. - Professional integrity and confidentiality. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Teams. Role Description Optro is seeking a detail-oriented accounting staff for a temporary and part-time revenue role. As part of this engagement, you will join a high-growth SaaS company as a member of the order-to-cash team to help drive the revenue reporting process. You will be the bridge between our sales operations and financial reporting, ensuring every deal is captured accurately and aligns with revenue recognition standards. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of US GAAP (we will bring you up to speed on the specific technical applications) and will support the day-to-day operations of our revenue function to ensure consistently smooth and accurate financial reporting. Key Responsibilities - Perform detailed review of SaaS sales contracts, occasionally working cross-functionally with sales to understand and accurately assess terms/deliverables; apply appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP. - Determine whether contracts are single- or multi-element. For multi-element contracts, verify Standalone Selling Price (SSP) of these contracts against the appropriate pricebook, and ensure accurate revenue allocation. - Review the system-generated monthly revenue schedule for above contracts and allocations. - Reperform Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) calculations to ensure accuracy, and validate that they align from the contracts to multiple reporting systems. - Provide consistent, timely updates to the Revenue Manager and Senior Manager regarding deal queue, ongoing tasks, and deadlines. - Collaborate with Revenue and other accounting team members on ad hoc special projects that support the broader goals of the Accounting department. - Assist in month-end closing activities and analysis as needed. - Able to commit to a 4-5 month contract starting in May/June and ending in October. Qualifications - Currently pursuing or obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting (CPA candidacy a plus). - Foundational understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles. - Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced setting. - Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. - High proficiency in Excel.
