Job Description

Pricing Product Manager

Vercel

About Vercel:Vercel gives developers the tools and cloud infrastructure to build, scale, and secure a faster, more personalized web. As the team behind v0, Next.js, and AI SDK, Vercel helps customers like Ramp, Supreme, PayPal, and Under Armour build for the AI-native web. Our mission is to enable the world to ship the best products. That starts with creating a place where everyone can do their best work. Whether you're building on our platform, supporting our customers, or shaping our story: You can just ship things. About the Role:Pricing at Vercel is about shaping how value creation connects with value capture, and it demands both technical depth and product intuition. We’re seeking a Product Manager who treats pricing as an integral part of our product. Your job isn’t to simply slap price tags on features - it’s to deeply understand our users, internal systems, and market dynamics, then develop elegant pricing structures that are value aligned and drive growth. You’ll be part of a small, fast-moving pricing team that unblocks engineering, accelerates ships, and owns the critical intersection of product, GTM, and monetization. If you’re based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you're located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote. For location-specific details, please connect with our recruiting team. What You Will Do: - Define pricing for new products and features: Work with product managers and engineers to design pricing models that fit how developers actually use our platform. - Repackage and optimize our portfolio of products: Rethink existing SKUs and bundles (e.g. observability, AI agents, core DX) to maximize adoption, retention, and expansion. - Identify and own big pricing bets: Lead org-wide initiatives that reshape how we monetize the platform, such as unifying our credit model. - Build Customer-Facing Tools: Own the creation of assets like dynamic ROI calculators and transparent pricing guides. About You: - Technical Depth: You’ve got technical chops, and you understand how pricing intersects with product architecture and developer workflows. - Pricing Expertise: You’ve designed successful pricing strategies for other products and can show results. - Commitment to ship quickly: You iterate fast, validate assumptions, and bring an outcome-focused mentality. - Execution & Influence: You know how to earn trust and get things done. - Quantitative Background: A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similarly quantitative field is strongly preferred. Bonus If You: - Passion for Vercel: You appreciate our mission, understand the needs of modern developers, and have opinions about where the market is headed. Benefits: - Competitive compensation package, including equity. - Inclusive Healthcare Package. - Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills. - Flexible Time Off. - We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed. The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $172,000-$258,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process. Vercel is committed to fostering and empowering an inclusive community within our organization. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Vercel encourages everyone to apply for our available positions, even if they don't necessarily check every box on the job description.

We are an equal opportunity workplace and committed to allowing candidates with disabilities or neurodevelopmental conditions to prove their competencies to their full potential.

Role Description We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own and drive the strategy, roadmap, and growth of a software platform. This is a dual-focus role: you will evolve the existing product for current users while identifying and capturing new market opportunities. You will work at the intersection of a deep technical engineering team, UX/UI designers, and the authorities who depend on the software in high-stakes, time-critical situations. As the software scales and evolves, you may be expected to build and lead a larger product team, shaping the product function within the business unit from the ground up. This position is open across our offices in Lisbon, Coimbra, Viseu, and Porto. What You'll Do - Product Strategy & Roadmap: - Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives and end-user needs. - Balance investment between platform evolution (new modules, UX improvements, technical debt) and growth initiatives (new scope/features, market segments, partnerships). - Translate regulatory frameworks and operational realities into clearly-defined product requirements to be developed, tested, and maintained. - Discovery & User Research: - Conduct deep discoveries to uncover latent needs and pain points. - Establish and maintain continuous feedback loops with operational users, leveraging both qualitative research and product analytics. - Benchmark against competitive and adjacent solutions across the maritime safety-tech landscape. - Delivery & Execution: - Partner closely with engineering leads and UX designers to shape solutions, write clear specifications, and prioritize the backlog. - Drive agile delivery ceremonies and ensure teams have the context they need to make autonomous, high-quality decisions. - Define and track product metrics (adoption, operational efficiency gains, incident response time improvements, NPS). - Growth & Go-to-Market: - Collaborate with sales, pre-sales, and business development to support bids, proposals, and client demonstrations. - Identify expansion opportunities across the product modular portfolio. - Represent the product at industry events, conferences, and working groups to build. - Team Building & Leadership: - Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of UX/UI designers, functional analysts, and product owners. - Establish product management best practices, frameworks, and tooling. - Foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making, user empathy, and outcome orientation. Qualifications - 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead PM role on complex B2B/B2G software platforms. - Proven track record of owning a product end-to-end: from vision and strategy through delivery and measurable business outcomes. - Experience with technically complex, data-intensive products (real-time systems, geospatial platforms, sensor fusion, C2/C4I, or similar). - Strong ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders, including government and public-sector clients. - Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, UX, sales) in agile environments. - Fluent English (written and spoken). Portuguese is a strong advantage. Requirements - Domain experience in maritime operations, defense, public safety, emergency response, or related safety-critical sectors. - Understanding relevant regulatory frameworks and how they shape product decisions. - Experience with GIS/mapping platforms, AIS data, or command-and-control software. - Background in growing a product team or establishing a product function within an engineering-led organization. - Familiarity with government/defense procurement cycles and long sales processes. - Experience with safety-critical software development standards (CMMI, DO-178C, or similar). Benefits - Private health insurance. - Employee Assistance Programme (mental health, legal, financial support). - Home office support. - Extra holidays: 2 additional days after year one, more as time goes on. - Extra parental leave: 2 additional months fully paid. - Gradual return-to-work support: We'll help you ease back from long breaks. - Sabbatical programme for long-term employees. - Training, mentorship, and growth opportunities: we'll invest in where you want to go next.
