AVP – Major Claims Leader

• Responsible for the strategic direction, operational leadership, and technical excellence of the organization’s most complex and high-exposure claims • Oversee a diverse portfolio including complex products liability, class actions, coverage litigation, complex construction defect claims, excess and surplus lines, general liability and commercial auto litigation • Serve as a key technical and leadership authority within the claim’s organization • Provide executive-level guidance on claim strategy, reserving, litigation management, risk transfer, and resolution of high-severity matters • Partner with the VP of Corporate Technical Claims on enterprise-level initiatives involving Legal, Underwriting, Actuarial, Reinsurance, and external counsel to drive consistent, predictable, and optimal outcomes
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or J.D. preferred
- Professional designations such as CPCU, AIC, SCLA, CCLA, PCLA, or similar strongly preferred or willingness to obtain
- Must meet applicable state licensing requirements for handling multi-line commercial claims
- 10+ years of experience handling or overseeing high-exposure, complex commercial P&C claims
- 7+ years of progressive leadership or management experience
- Demonstrated success managing complex litigation, coverage disputes, and large-loss resolution
- Experience with complex GL/CA litigation, construction defect, excess and surplus, class actions, product liability and coverage litigation

The Segment CIO is a senior executive responsible for defining and executing multi‑year technology strategies that improve patient, clinician, and operator experience while running large, complex technology environments. Role Description This position will manage and develop a portfolio of commercial/commercial real estate relationships and ensure retention of total client assets and net growth in relationships, while complying with established Associated Banc-Corp risk management and credit policy, business strategy and regulatory guidelines.
