Lunon is the world's first AI-native consulting firm. We run engagements for private equity firms and global enterprises across the full spectrum of consulting work. The work is institutional quality, delivered in a fraction of the time and cost. We believe the traditional consulting model is fundamentally broken. Firms charge $500 an hour for analysts doing work that AI can do better, faster, and more rigorously. We are building the platform that proves it, and delivering the engagements that demonstrate it. We have raised a $2M pre-seed round backed by General Catalyst, SV Angel, and top Silicon Valley names, with advisors across the world's leading PE firms and consulting practices. What you'll own As Lunon's Software Engineering Intern, you will work directly with the founding engineering team on the platform powering our client engagements. The platform is where hundreds of millions of dollars in deals get analyzed and decided. Engagements run end to end on it, from initial scoping through live AI-driven research and analysis, to polished reports and deliverables that clients access directly. This is not a "build an internal tool and present at the end of summer" internship. You will own features end to end, ship them to real clients, and see the impact immediately. How you'll work - Your workflow, your tools, your call. Claude Code, Cursor, whatever gets the best result fastest. - You ship it yourself. No handoffs, no waiting on someone to unblock you. - You stay on top of the best tools as they emerge and bring that to the team. - You hit a wall, you find a way through it. That's the job. Most internships will micromanage you, hand you projects you didn't choose, and slow down your learning at every turn. This one is built on velocity, ownership, and grind. Must haves You are a good fit for Lunon if you are a formidable engineer. This means you stop at nothing to accomplish your goal. We don't care much about your current skills or even what you've done before. We care that you will figure out anything you set your mind to. You must be autonomous. There is no ticket queue. There is no hand-holding. You pick up the work, figure out what needs to be done, and do it. You must be AI-fluent. Claude Code or Cursor should be your default. You use AI to punch above your weight, not as a crutch. You must be pragmatic. Lunon is a startup so something is always on fire. Some things will be broken, some things will be unclear, and some things will change overnight. You figure it out and keep going. You must be gritty. You pick the hardest, highest-quality option regardless of the effort it takes and you push through it. Prior startup experience is strongly preferred. If you have already survived the chaos of an early-stage company, you know what you are walking into. Your GitHub should tell a story. We are not expecting dozens of polished repos, but we want to see someone who lives in code — consistent activity, real projects, and enough experience that branches, PRs, and merge conflicts are second nature. Why Lunon - Young, hungry founders. No bureaucracy, no politics, just building. - Small team, high trust, no one looking over your shoulder. - $1,000 tools stipend to set you up with everything you need to ship. - Early model access through an OpenAI partnership. - Remote About the interview - 30-minute intro call with founders - Take-home build challenge - 30-minute interview with Dhruv (CEO) and Connor (CTO)
Businesses on Mercury are leveraging their financial insights to inform consequential decisions that drive their company forward. Fragmented financial data, inaccuracies, and delayed accounting reports result in these businesses making decisions based on processed historical data and not on the state of their business today. For accountants, this adds growing pressure to reconcile and review, resulting in less time spent providing exceptional service to their clients. Our Accounting product engineering team exists to close this gap by enabling real-time insights for businesses that use Mercury. We do this by allowing businesses to connect their other financial software to Mercury, configure auto-categorization, and identify outliers that may lead to inaccuracies. By closing the books in real-time, businesses get a live picture of their finances, not a lagging one. We’re looking for an engineering leader who is excited to lead their team to execute on our vision for real-time accounting and own a critical part of Mercury’s product growth. As part of this role, you will: - Lead a team of 6+ exceptional software engineers, growing the team through performance management, mentorship, and hiring. - Contribute to a team culture that aligns to Mercury’s values. - Help define technical architecture for ingesting financial data from hundreds of sources and streaming them to Mercury’s accounting service. - Work closely with designers, product leaders, and other cross-functional stakeholders to shape product strategy and execute on the Accounting team roadmap. - Collaborate with other engineering teams on overlapping work, optimizing for product cohesion and simplicity over strict division of responsibility. The ideal candidate for the role: - Has 3+ years of engineering management leading full-stack product engineering teams, especially teams that have leveraged AI to build software. - Has made architectural decisions in the past and measured the impact of those decisions over time. You should be able to clearly articulate your technical opinions and lay out tradeoffs. Bonus points if you have experience in both monolithic and microservice architectures. - Has a strong sense of technical and product ownership and actively seeks responsibility – our engineers often act as product owners on small/medium projects, and we want someone who’s excited to help shape the future of our accounting products; previous experience in fintech/accounting or building consumer-facing AI products is a nice-to-have. - Is comfortable driving discussions in areas with ambiguous ownership, approaches them with empathy, and prioritizes reaching outcomes. Our work overlaps with many other teams – you’ll have a lot of autonomy in this role and are expected to use it to seek out ways to have an impact. If this role interests you, we invite you to explore our public demo at demo.mercury.com. The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits. Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers. Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following: - US employees (any location): $200,700 - $250,900 - Canadian employees (any location): CAD $189,700 - $237,100 Mercury values diversity & belonging and is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
