Job Description

Product Manager

IDERA Software

• Be the internal authority on the ISV embedded analytics buyer – deeply understand how ISVs evaluate, purchase, embed, brand, and monetize analytics within their SaaS products. • Conduct ongoing customer discovery through interviews, customer calls, advisory boards, and win/loss analysis to maintain a sharp understanding of customer needs, buying criteria, and unmet problems. • Monitor the competitive landscape across embedded BI and analytics – track competitors, emerging players, and technology trends, and translate those insights into strategic recommendations. • Synthesize customer and market intelligence into clear, compelling narratives that inform product strategy, roadmap priorities, and go-to-market positioning. • Be hands-on with the product – install, configure, and use Yellowfin as your target customers would, understanding the embedded integration experience from the perspective of both ISV developers and their end users. • Own and shape the Yellowfin product strategy for the ISV and embedded analytics segment, ensuring the roadmap reflects real market opportunities and is differentiated against the competition. • Partner with engineering leadership to translate strategic priorities into a well-sequenced roadmap, clearly communicating the ‘why’ behind prioritization decisions to internal stakeholders. • Define and articulate compelling product positioning and value propositions that resonate with ISV buyers, their technical evaluators, and the end users of embedded analytics. • Identify and evaluate opportunities for new capabilities, partnerships, or market expansions that align with Yellowfin’s embedded analytics growth strategy. • Communicate product strategy and roadmap confidently to executive leadership, sales, and marketing – ensuring all teams are aligned and energized around a shared direction. • Work closely with sales teams to help them identify, qualify, and win ISV opportunities – providing the customer and product knowledge that gives them confidence in competitive situations. • Help product marketing create sales enablement materials including personas, use cases, competitive battle cards, and solution narratives tailored to the ISV embedded analytics buyer journey. • Participate in strategic sales cycles as a product expert – joining customer conversations, delivering product demos, and helping prospects understand how Yellowfin solves their specific embedded analytics challenge. • Partner with marketing to develop messaging, campaigns, and content that effectively reaches ISV buyers and positions Yellowfin as the preferred embedded analytics platform. • Support successful product launches by coordinating go-to-market readiness across sales, marketing, and customer success teams, including webinars, release communications, and field enablement.

Job Requirements

  • Proven product management experience in a B2B SaaS or analytics software environment, with a track record of customer-led product strategy.
  • Exceptional ability to engage with customers – conduct discovery, extract insight, build relationships, and translate what you learn into strategic product and go-to-market decisions.
  • Strong commercial instincts – you think about winning customers, not just building features, and you understand how product strategy connects to revenue growth.
  • Ability to influence without authority: establish rapport, build trust, and communicate your product vision persuasively across sales, marketing, engineering, and executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – you can craft compelling narratives for different audiences, from a CTO evaluating an analytics SDK to a CEO reviewing a company roadmap.
  • Experience working with international teams across multiple time zones and with large, matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities simultaneously without losing sight of strategic goals.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity – able to be flexible, embrace change, and refine strategy as the market and business evolve.
  • Ability to quickly absorb technical concepts – you don’t need to write the code, but you need to understand what matters to developers and architects evaluating an embedded analytics platform.
  • Independent, proactive, and thorough – you take ownership of outcomes and drive them to resolution.

Role Description The Forward Deployed PM is the person who makes that delivery real. Strategy work sets the direction; this role turns it into a product the client can use. You'll own AI product builds from kickoff through iteration, and you'll be the single point of contact our clients trust to keep things on track. Project types span across building process automations, driving enterprise implementations, and working on custom product builds. You translate the strategy into a real product, define what success looks like, run the build, manage the client relationship, set structured direction for your team, and shape what comes next as the engagement progresses. Strong PMs here don't just deliver. They raise the bar on AI output quality, challenge scope when it matters, and feed what they learn back into how Casper works. This is a role for someone who wants to be the PM for multiple AI products at once, with ownership over outcomes. The best background is someone who has owned client work at top consulting firms or finance firms, product roles at AI-native companies or AI consultancies, and forward deployed roles at tech companies. The common thread is working with AI products and a real sense of ownership over quality and client outcomes. Qualifications - 4 to 7 years of experience running client engagements in fast-paced environments: top-tier consulting firms, finance, AI consultancies, AI startups, or forward deployed roles in tech - A track record of shipping thoughtful AI products or features - AI-native mindset: you use AI tools daily and think from first principles about what AI makes possible - Strong written and verbal communication: you lead client meetings independently, write crisp communications, and drive alignment with your team - Comfort with technical concepts and a desire to build on your own. You don't need to write production code, but you use AI tools and understand what technical stakeholders need - An ownership mentality. References describe you as someone who runs things, not someone who needs to be managed - Self-directed and excited by the pace of an early stage firm Requirements - Own one or two active client engagements as the single point of contact, keeping things on track from kickoff through iteration - Turn ambiguous client needs into clear requirements, a prioritized backlog, and a plan the team can build against - Run sprints, manage timelines, and make the scope and resourcing tradeoffs that keep builds shipping - Set the bar for AI output quality, define acceptance thresholds, and set the evaluation plan - Surface blockers and scope creep early, with a recommended path forward - Direct the daily work of designers and engineers on your engagement, aligning priorities and unblocking the team - Partner closely with our AI Strategists on engagement handoffs, ongoing scoping, and shaping the next phase of work as the relationship grows - Deliver polished client materials and communications about project plans, product decisions, and risks and mitigations - Develop replicable processes across projects, experiment with AI-first approaches, and scale insights across the product team Benefits - Fully remote (US-based), with occasional client travel - Base salary: $160,000–$180,000, plus performance bonus and equity - Flexible PTO
