Job Description
Sales Professional – Business Development
Cornucopia Biosciences
Role Description Cornucopia Bio is an AI-native automation company operating at the intersection of assay execution and lab automation. We're looking for a high-performing sales operator — someone who can build pipeline from scratch, navigate complex pharma and biotech organizations, and close deals independently in an early-stage environment. This is a 90-day retainer engagement with strong commission upside. Built for an operator who thrives on autonomy and wants real skin in the game. Compensation - Monthly retainer: $3,333/month ($10,000 total over 90 days) - Commission: 15% of revenue generated, paid on cash received - Tiered option: - 15% on first $50K closed - 20% on revenue beyond $50K - Alternative structure available: $5K retainer + 20–25% commission for the right candidate What you'll own - Run outbound pipeline across enterprise and mid-size pharma and biotech accounts — email, LinkedIn, and warm network introductions - Target 8–15 qualified meetings per week from day one - Own deals end-to-end: discovery, follow-up, negotiation, and close - Collaborate with founders on pricing, positioning, and proposal strategy - Develop and manage relationships across assay execution (qPCR, ELISA) and lab automation buyers - Surface market intelligence — customer pain points, competitive signals, and messaging feedback - Drive strategic introductions and partnership conversations Performance milestones - Day 30: At least 20 qualified meetings completed and early pipeline forming. Engagement reviewed at this stage — insufficient pipeline is grounds for early termination. - Day 60: Active pipeline with $25K+ in qualified opportunities progressing toward close. - Day 90: Closed revenue target reached. Both parties decide to extend, convert, or conclude the engagement. Who you are - Proven track record selling into pharma, biotech, or life sciences — you understand how buyers in these organizations think and buy - A hunter who can both source and close, without waiting for inbound leads - Comfortable operating in an early-stage, founder-led company where processes are still forming - Adept at outbound prospecting — you have a methodology and a personal network you can activate quickly - Familiarity with assay workflows (qPCR, ELISA) and/or lab automation is a meaningful advantage - Self-directed, accountable, and transparent about what's working and what isn't Terms & exclusivity - Either party may terminate with 7 days' written notice - Immediate termination if no meaningful pipeline is established by day 30, or if engagement expectations are not met - Overlapping client engagements must be disclosed at the time of signing - Cannot represent direct competitors in lab automation or assay execution during this term - Commission is paid on cash received, not contract signature date How to apply Submit your application with a brief note on your most relevant pharma or biotech sales experience and a specific example of a deal you sourced and closed independently.
