• Design and develop scalable, robust, and high-performance system architectures using Python. • Define and enforce best practices in software architecture, coding standards, and system design. • Lead the integration of AI/LLM solutions into existing and new systems. • Architect and oversee implementation of high-load web applications using AWS/Azure core services • Make key decisions regarding cloud architecture (AWS/Azure), scalability, and data processing strategies. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team. • Review and improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability. • Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code standards. • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and drive innovation within the team.

• This is a remote role. • Performs tasks covering the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to supporting the final deployment of the features they developed, consistent with agile development processes. • Join the development team and take work items for development in each Sprint; • Carry out development-related activities such as analysis and design, programming, testing, and working on requirements; • Execute software development activities in a multidisciplinary manner, with a focus on product quality and maintainability; • Manage your own work, promptly informing the team about any delays or other impediments; • Mentor and provide support to the project's development team members; • Code and integrate software components according to technical specifications; • Identify, build, and test developed components to ensure quality; • Perform evolutionary and corrective maintenance of software components; • Produce technical documentation according to contractual requirements; • Integrate the produced components with those built by other team members; • Set up and configure the local development environment according to project requirements and needs; • Provide support to the IT team and client users; • Deliver and execute integration testing in the client's environment; • Monitor acceptance testing and deployment of the software in the client's environments; • Provide training and knowledge transfer to the client about the developed software.

The Opportunity: - Have backend engineers in almost every team across Telnyx, and in that role, you’ll be making some of the most significant decisions for the company. - Work with other engineers to build delightful features that span various parts of the system, as well as our business, sales, and operations teams to understand and solve our users’ pain points. - Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Telnyx’s engineering teams. - Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack. - Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large scale. - Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes. Qualifications - 6+ years of professional software development experience with a functional programming language (Elixir/Erlang is preferred). - Experience working with relational databases at scale. - Deep knowledge of microservice architecture patterns and anti-patterns. - Experience with message queues like RabbitMQ and Kafka. - Understanding of the challenges inherent in concurrent and distributed programming. - Experience with more exotic databases/key-value stores such as ETS, Mnesia, Cassandra, and Redis. - Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Jenkins, Prometheus, or RabbitMQ.
