Element Materials Technology

Overview To provide functional expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) with a specific focus on Project Accounting as well as core finance modules, supporting the global rollout and continuous improvement of Project management and accounting processes. The role ensures consistent implementation of global standards, integration with D365 Customer Engagement (CE), and ensuring accurate project setup, revenue recognition, cost control, and compliance with Global finance regulations.This role supports the delivery and ongoing optimisation of D365 FO project accounting functionality across Global operations. It partners with business stakeholders, finance teams, and IT to align project finance processes with Element’s business model. Responsibilities - Act as the functional expert for Project management & accounting as well as Core Finance modules within D365 F&O, supporting design, configuration, and optimisation - Work with Finance and Project Managers to define and optimise processes for project setup, budgeting, time/expense, and forecasting. - Configure GL, AP, AR, FA, and related modules, ensuring consistency with global processes. - Collaborate with Global Process Leads and regional finance teams to align policy, process, and system usage. - Support testing, deployment, and BAU support for PMA functionality across multiple entities. - Partner with the integration and reporting teams to ensure seamless data flow with D365 CE and other enterprise systems. - Assist with month-end, year-end, and audit activities. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process automation, and efficiency gains within finance operations. - Participate in global governance forums and contribute to finance process documentation and training. Skills / Qualifications Knowledge and Skills Needed to Fulfil the Role: - Strong functional knowledge of D365 F&O Finance modules Project Management & accounting and supporting areas (GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash & Bank, Period Close). - Understanding of global accounting and statutory reporting requirements. - Ability to translate finance business requirements into D365 configuration and documentation. - Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. - Analytical and problem-solving ability with a focus on continuous improvement. - Awareness of PowerPlatform, Electronic Reporting (ER), and Docentric tools for process automation, document output and reporting. Experience Needed to Fulfil the Role: Essential - 5–10 years’ experience as a D365 F&O/AX Functional Consultant, focusing on Project management and accounting but also across multiple finance modules. - Proven experience supporting global or multi-entity finance transformation programmes. - Experience with system configuration, implementation, and post-go-live support. - Familiarity with D365 CE integrations and cross-functional processes (e.g. L2C, P2P). - Experience with Power Platform, Electronic reporting and XML invoicing Preferred - Microsoft Dynamics Certification e.g. MB-310 - Finance or Project Management Accounting or Associate Finance functional consultant - Experience with Docentric AX #LI-DJ1 Company Overview Element is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
