Role Description The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a critical role in driving business growth and expanding our market presence through: - Initiating and building strategic relationships - Qualifying prospects - Developing qualified business opportunities contributing to the overall sales pipeline Working closely with both marketing and sales teams, this position engages in: - Marketing activities and campaigns to build relationships - Initial contact with prospective clients - Generating and qualifying sales opportunities The BDR works closely with Account Executives to: - Create and prioritize their business target market - Position our value proposition - Generate attention and interest for our products and services They are accountable for generating qualified leads and transitioning these leads to our Account Executive team. What you will do - Develop an effective pipeline of sales opportunities through the qualification of leads generated from marketing campaigns and outbound prospecting - Prospect and engage with prospective customers through targeted outreach using multiple channels including phone, email, social media, and networking events - Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with the greater sales function and marketing teams - Manage and coordinate leads through the qualification process - Engage with prospects and lead the first sales meeting to understand their pain points, challenges, and goals - Provide ongoing market feedback and suggestions to refine positioning and improve outbound strategies - Manage and maintain a healthy pipeline by accurately tracking all interactions, follow-ups, and progress with leads - Source new contacts using external data sources such as ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator - Participate in local trade shows and training, staying informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics - Understand Kinaxis’ differentiated value proposition to effectively educate and generate demand from qualified prospects Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience - 5 years of proven business to business work experience as a qualified business/market/sales development representative - Knowledge of marketing, sales, and business processes, and protocols preferably in a similar industry - Demonstrate professional interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders - Effective negotiation and persuasion skills - Exceptional collaboration and negotiation skills with ability to influence, persuade, and gain support - Effective time management and organizational skills with a proactive, goal-oriented mindset - Advanced computer skills, especially Microsoft Office, Excel, Salesforce, and Eloqua considered an asset - Professional verbal and written communication skills - Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, track projects, and meet urgent deadlines - Valid passport is required, ability to travel as required (up to 20%) Benefits - Flexible vacation and Kinaxis Days (company-wide days off) - Flexible work options - Physical and mental well-being programs - Regularly scheduled virtual fitness classes - Mentorship programs, training, and career development - Recognition programs and referral rewards - Hackathons
