Internal Audit Intern – Data Analytics, Automation
Leidos
• Support the development and enhancement of Power BI dashboards and reports used for internal audit analytics and monitoring • Assist with data extraction, transformation, and integration from multiple internal systems and data sources • Develop and maintain Power Query (M) workflows to standardize and automate data preparation processes • Apply Python to automate repetitive tasks and improve audit data workflows • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risk indicators • Collaborate with audit team members to translate business requirements into technical solutions • Proactively communicate progress, risks, and blockers in a timely manner, particularly in a remote work environment • Provide regular, structured status updates on deliverables and timelines without requiring prompting • Demonstrate ownership of assigned work by independently managing tasks, seeking clarification early, and driving work through completion • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve, streamline, or automate existing audit processes • Document data processes, assumptions, and methodologies to support repeatability and audit transparency • Provide support for ad hoc data requests and special projects
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- US Citizenship is required
- Experience with Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation)
- Hands-on experience developing Power BI solutions, including data modeling, DAX measures, and Power Query (M) transformations
- Hands-on experience developing Python-based solutions for data analysis, transformation, or automation (e.g., using pandas or similar libraries)
- Experience applying technical skills to real-world projects (academic, internship, or personal)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
