• Apply knowledge of CMS programs, data, and technology platforms to develop and deliver code and data products in support of CMS Medicaid projects. • Develop technical solutions for complex problems through ingenuity and innovation. • Work collaboratively across a cross-functional team. • Deploy processes for quality assurance of code and requirements in analytics delivery including defect tracking and specification traceability following agile project management principles for technical work. • Provide support across the data lifecycle including data acquisition, analysis, visualization, and automation. • Support data modernization efforts and develop/improve automated data workflows. • Develop and maintain code in Python, SQL, and PySpark using version control (Git) software. • Eventually lead tasks, including organizing work plans and delegating work, with minimal supervision.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree + 5 years’ experience, Master degree + 3 years’ experience, PhD + 0 years experience
  • Experience in SQL and/or Python is required, and experience with PySpark is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to use it in collaborative workflows is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with analytic platforms and BI tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, and PowerBI.
  • Experience with Databricks is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to use git in collaborative workflows is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with cloud computing services (e.g. AWS, Azure) is preferred.
  • Experience with CMS Medicaid data is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to manage competing project demands while maintaining high attention to detail and organization is required.
  • Active credentials to work on CMS’s systems or experience obtaining federal credentials is strongly preferred.
  • CMS experience, or other government or public sector experience strongly preferred.
  • US work authorization and ability to gain CMS clearance including passing a background check is required.
