As a Workday Extend Architect in Kainos, you’ll lead a team of specialist extend consultants on a project, ensuring the successful delivery of extend solutions for the cloud based Workday system. As a knowledgeable expert in Extend, you will work closely with customers to lead the Workday Extend project, and will scope, gather requirements, document, implement, deploy and support applications, using the Workday Extend platform toolset. You’ll build strong relationships with our customers to understand their requirements, ensuring that the solution is aligned to their needs, fit for purpose and commercially viable. You’ll be a key contributor to guiding, developing and educating others within the Workday practice on the area of Extend. Minimum (essential) requirements: - Proficiency with XML, REST, SOAP, JSON, and be knowledgeable in an object oriented programming language. - Experience of designing applications to solve business and technical problems. - Good understanding of cloud computing, web services and associated challenges. - Excellent customer focus, able to assess customer needs, build relationships and manage customer expectations. You will know when to push back, when to escalate, and when to go above and beyond to satisfy a customer. - Strong communicator, able to communicate with customers and colleagues with impact, credibility and empathy, including in a remote working situation. - Sound ability to formally present to senior Client audiences. - Strong commercial awareness and full understanding of project and business dynamics. - Broad business and technology understanding and a good awareness of industry trends in both HR and HR technology. - Ability to work to tight deadlines and make sensible decisions under pressure taking a balanced view of Customer demands and Kainos commercials. Desirable: - Workday HCM Certified, or experience with other similar HCM/ ERP systems. - Proficiency in other middleware/ application development platforms. - Proficiency in object-oriented programming language or web development language. - Experience of designing workflows to solve business and technical problems. - Experience of managing, mentoring and developing teams. People management: Your role may or may not involve managing people. Where you do have direct reports your responsibilities may include: - Agreeing, setting and reviewing your and your team’s goals aligned to Kainos, Workday practice and your Capability. - Providing support so that your and your team’s goals can be achieved. - Reviewing and refining goals for relevance and to keep performance on track. - Reviewing performance against goals and provide feedback. - Conducting 1:1 monthly and/or project completion feedback meetings. - Requesting and providing regular feedback in Workday. - Completing End of Year reviews and agreeing the outcomes for the year. - Identifying training to support your and your team’s development. - Pursuing and supporting your and your team members’ career paths and progression. - Reviewing weekly workload forecasting (staff allocations and timesheet checks) and utilisation. - Actively being involved in recruitment/interviews. - Reviewing attrition and retention metrics. Role Description We are seeking a highly experienced Design Verification Architect to lead the definition and execution of scalable, reusable, and high-quality verification strategies for next-generation SoCs targeting AI, HPC, and Networking applications. This role requires deep expertise in verifying large and complex SoCs and a passion for building next-gen verification platforms, leveraging automation, portability, and AI-driven methodologies. - Define and drive the overall verification architecture for large-scale SoCs, ensuring scalability from IP → subsystem → full SoC level. - Architect and develop reusable, modular, and portable verification platforms that can be leveraged across multiple chip programs. - Establish methodologies for seamless reuse and portability, including Portable Stimulus (PSS)-based verification flows. - Lead the development of high-performance, coverage-driven testbenches using industry-standard methodologies (e.g., UVM). - Drive multi-level verification strategies, enabling efficient scaling across: - Block-level - Multi-block/subsystem level - Full-chip SoC level - Define and enforce verification quality metrics, coverage closure strategies, and sign-off criteria. - Champion a “fail-fast” philosophy to detect issues early and improve overall design quality. - Drive initiatives toward first-pass silicon success, minimizing escapes and post-silicon debug effort. - Leverage AI/ML techniques and AI agents to: - Automate testbench generation - Improve stimulus generation and coverage closure - Enhance regression efficiency and debug productivity - Enable intelligent verification QA and anomaly detection - Collaborate closely with design, architecture, physical design, and software teams to ensure alignment and early issue detection. - Mentor and guide DV teams on best practices, methodology adoption, and architectural decisions. Qualifications - Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. - 12+ years of experience in Design Verification, with significant exposure to large SoC verification. - Proven experience in defining and deploying verification architectures for complex chips. - Strong expertise in: - SystemVerilog and UVM - Coverage-driven verification (functional + code coverage) - Assertion-based verification (SVA) - Hands-on experience with Portable Stimulus (PSS) and cross-level stimulus reuse. - Deep understanding of SoC architectures in AI, HPC, or Networking domains. - Experience with multi-IP integration challenges, coherency, high-speed interfaces, and large-scale data movement. - Strong debugging skills and ability to handle complex system-level issues. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with AI/ML applications in verification workflows. - Exposure to emulation, prototyping, or hybrid verification platforms. - Familiarity with performance verification and power-aware verification. - Knowledge of industry-standard protocols (e.g., PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, CXL, UCIe). - Experience building verification frameworks reused across multiple tape-outs.
