Instrumentation & Controls Engineer
EMA, Inc.
• Support municipal water and wastewater clients in the Sacramento California area • Program, configure, test, and commission SCADA systems • Transform client operations, processes, and technology by providing solutions that increase operational efficiency, allowing for data driven decision making • Support control system design, construction projects, and public bid • Prepare technical reports (SCADA Master Plans, Preliminary Engineering Reports) • Collaborate with operators, maintenance staff, managers, and engineers • Participate in client workshops and project teams • Assist Business Development Team with proposals and identify lateral and follow-on work • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with SMEs • Travel to client sites up to 50% depending on project needs
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in the following: Programming, configuration, and commissioning of SCADA system PLCs, HMIs, OITs, and related SCADA software
- Instrumentation and control system design, including control system network design
- Training clients on newly installed control systems
- SCADA / OT Master Planning
- Construction phase services, including bidding services, submittal reviews, responding to RFIs, and factory and field test witnessing
- Experience in the municipal water and wastewater industry
- Experience in consulting
- Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain
- Travel approximately 50% depending on project needs

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the Windows and RHEL 8.x OS used by Everfox appliances onsite in physical and virtualized environments. • Creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting ESXi or Hyper-V hosted virtual hosts. • Monitor and troubleshoot the performance of Everfox products onsite. • Reviewing, applying, and remediating security vulnerabilities or security controls based on STIG guidance or scanning reports. • Installing firmware updates on physical components, such as DellEMC or HPE servers, SANs, switches, firewalls, etc. • Working with the product support and development teams to address issues or bugs discovered in products running at a customer location. • Working with onsite government, contractor, or subcontractor staff to resolve issues with onsite products. • Regularly checking the health and performance of Kubernetes clusters to ensure they are operating optimally. • Use monitoring tools like Grafana to track system metrics. • Reviewing logs to preemptively address potential issues before they escalate into problems. • Interact with customer networking, security, and operations teams to deploy, monitor, and operate Everfox appliances. • Ability to understand, explain and create software deployment plans. • Communicating daily with customers and Everfox management, providing detailed activity summaries and in-depth trip reports where applicable. • Assisting in the lifting/racking and cabling of physical hardware. ** Other duties as assigned***
