The Opportunity: This addition to our growing team, in cooperation with other Units and while also supporting the less senior discipline members, will ensure the safe and reliable operation of our generation fleet in complete compliance with best practices, quality, safety and environmental requirements, while maintaining operational excellence and compliance with applicable reliability standards. the incumbent will address and solve technical issues related to grid interconnection, metering, and outage coordination. What You'll Do at Enel North America: Grid interconnection Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Act as the technical interface with Transmission Operators (TOPs), Transmission Owners (TOs), and Regional Transmission System Operators (RTOs) for operational matters of specific projects. - Coordinate on technical matters with the Business Development and Engineering & Construction groups in upcoming project interconnections. - Provide guidance on the technical aspects of grid interconnection for renewable power plants post commercial operation. - Provide technical support to Power Settlements for PPA management and NERC compliance team for NERC compliance related items. - Lead and Coordinate NERC MOD-025/026/027 Testing for newly commission and existing plants. - Supply and verify plant modeling information in accordance to NER MOD-032 compliance requirements. - Verifies and provide technical solutions for the ancillary service and grid regulation required by Transmission Owner - Monitoring of Grid Code/Regulatory norms and the impact of technical changes - Lead and coordinate metering design reviews with engineering, contractors, RTO and Transmission Owner. Review and/or answer Requests for Information. - Lead and coordinate outage management processes for existing plants - Coach and mentor less senior member of the Grid Connection Engineering team in performing their essential job functions. Who You Are: - Ability to work within a Global Framework and matrixed organization - Ability in working within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams - Innovation and Sustainable thinking - Strong computer skills is a must (Proficiency with MS Access, PI Word & Excel) - Rigorous and structured in the execution of work - Bias to Action - Ability to work in autonomy for complex tasks and in multiple projects under pressure - Valid Driver's license What You've Accomplished: - BS Electrical Engineering. - Master's Degree in Power Systems is preferred. - 1-5 years of engineering background with experience in utility scale electrical power systems. - Experience in grid interconnection integration of power producer resources in transmission level systems is preferred. - Knowledgeable in power systems engineering in distribution, transmission, substations and generation. - Familiarity with RTO processes and practices. - Knowledgeable of technical requirements of ISO and Transmission Owner - Knowledge of Grid Interconnections Agreements - Experienced in overall Electrical Power System engineering - Ability to coordinate all interface electrical and SCADA design with interconnecting Power Utility - Knowledgeable of software for PSSE power system simulator. - Experience with SCADA systems is highly desired - Familiarity with NERC/FERC reliability standards. The base pay actually offered will be based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, work experience, education, and internal equity.
