Job Description We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a key role in optimizing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, automation pipelines, and IT operations. In this role, you'll be responsible for infrastructure management, ensuring our AWS and cloud environments are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient. You'll also lead DevOps initiatives, driving automation, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD processes to enhance efficiency across all various projects, while also contributing as a key member of the Raisin Team. What you’ll do: - AWS Cloud Architecture - Design, deploy, and manage scalable, highly available AWS infrastructure, ensuring cost optimisation, security, and alignment with architectural best practices. - Infrastructure as Code - Own and evolve the Terraform estate across all environments, ensuring reproducible, version-controlled, and peer-reviewed infrastructure provisioning. - Security & Compliance - Implement and maintain cloud security controls covering IAM, network security, encryption, and security patching. Own PCI DSS compliance obligations across infrastructure and pipeline tooling. - CI/CD Pipeline Engineering - Build, maintain, and improve automated pipelines covering build, test, and deployment workflows for containerised and non-containerised workloads across all environments. - Observability & Incident Response - Design and operate monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve performance and availability issues across the platform. - Environment & Release Management - Own the full lifecycle of deployment environments (INT, QA, UAT, production), maintaining environment parity, branch management discipline, and release process quality in collaboration with QA. - Platform & Container Operations - Manage containerised workloads, plan and execute OS and application upgrades, and perform capacity planning and performance tuning across AWS-hosted platforms. - AI-Augmented Operations - Integrate AI and agentic tooling into operational workflows to automate anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and routine remediation tasks, reducing mean time to recovery. - Developer Enablement - Support development teams with fast, reproducible local and CI environments, improve build performance, reduce feedback loop times, and maintain developer tooling. - Quality Engineering Collaboration - Partner with QA and development teams to integrate automated testing into CI pipelines, support regression test automation, and drive continuous improvement of release quality and velocity. - Agile Delivery - Work within an agile/scrum framework, contributing to sprint planning, removing blockers, providing effort estimates, and owning DevOps-related backlog items end to end. - Cross-functional Collaboration - Act as a technical bridge across engineering, security, and product teams, aligning infrastructure and platform work with broader business objectives and communicating risk clearly to stakeholders. What you’ll bring: - Experience - 5+ years in a DevOps or platform engineering role, with a proven track record of owning cloud infrastructure in a production environment. - AWS Proficiency - Hands-on experience designing and managing AWS services (EC2, ECS, RDS, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, and related), with a strong understanding of cloud networking and high-availability patterns. - Infrastructure as Code - Solid experience with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with CloudFormation is a plus. - CI/CD & Automation - 3+ years working with CI/CD platforms, ideally TeamCity and Octopus Deploy. Able to design, build, and maintain pipelines from commit through to production deployment. - Scripting & Development Awareness - Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation and tooling. Working knowledge of .NET/C# and modern front-end stacks (Angular, Node.js) sufficient to collaborate effectively with development teams. - Containers & Orchestration - Strong working knowledge of Docker and container-based deployments. Kubernetes experience is an asset; practical container operations experience is essential. - Security & Compliance - Good understanding of DevSecOps principles, including IAM least-privilege, secrets management, network segmentation, and security patching. PCI DSS experience is a strong advantage. - Observability - Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tooling such as CloudWatch, New Relic, Wazuh, or ELK Stack. Comfortable building alerting strategies and responding to incidents. - Databases - Working knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL in a cloud-hosted context (e.g. Aurora PostgreSQL). NoSQL or Redis experience is a plus. - Linux Administration - Solid sysadmin experience with Linux/Unix environments, including package management, log management, and system hardening. - AI & Emerging Tooling - Curiosity and practical interest in applying AI and agentic tools to operational workflows, including automated monitoring, remediation, and developer productivity. - Communication & Collaboration - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
