Rowan Digital Infrastructure

• Facilitate the implementation of sustainability strategies and practices that advance Rowan’s corporate sustainability objectives for data center projects in various stages of development, from site origination through facility operations. • Influence decarbonization strategies for embodied carbon and energy use including sourcing and supply chain optimizations across the portfolio. • Partner with the Site Origination, Development, Energy, Water, Engineering, Construction, and Facility Operations teams to develop and manage sustainability strategies on multiple projects simultaneously. • Lead the delivery of sustainability objectives, including greenhouse gas reduction plans, sustainability reporting, project certifications, and ESG programs for projects. • Ensure key performance metrics, including energy, water, carbon, and materials impact, are tracked and leveraged across all projects. • Develop and refine technical reports, investment memos, corporate sustainability reporting, and other critical deliverables for internal and external communications. • Support the expansion of the sustainability practice within Rowan, including mentoring and hiring staff, improving workflows between business units, and implementing industry-aligned standards that drives decarbonization on our projects. • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within design and construction teams and with Rowan’s investor and customer organizations. • Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues in improved building performance and decarbonization approaches and identify opportunities to integrate this knowledge into Rowan’s development process.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sustainability, engineering, architecture, environmental science or a related field with 10-15 years of professional experience in sustainability consulting. Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with sustainability assessments and ESG reporting programs (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi, CDP, Article 9, SASB, etc.).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects and initiatives across business units effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Technical experience with sustainability certifications (e.g. LEED, BREEAM, Fitwel, ILFI Zero Carbon, etc.) and carbon offset strategies.
  • Experience using sustainability and project management tools (Procore, EC3, One Click LCA).
  • LEED AP with specialty or equivalent sustainability credential preferred.
