Job Summary As a Software Engineer, you will be a vital member of our delivery team, focusing on building and maintaining scalable backend services that facilitate the seamless exchange of healthcare data. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to develop modern, distributed microservices that integrate with Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) and utilize interoperability standards like FHIR and HL7. Your work directly impacts our ability to provide value-based care by ensuring clinical data is accurate and accessible at the point of care. Responsibilities - Develop and maintain robust backend services and APIs using Kotlin/Java. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ingest and transform complex clinical data. - Implement unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality, reliability, and security. - Use GitHub for version control, participating in peer code reviews to learn and share knowledge. - Support the automation of software workflows using modern CI/CD and SecDevOps practices. Required Qualifications - Foundational understanding of building high-performance, distributed systems running in the cloud (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS). - Professional experience or significant project work using Kotlin or Java. - Experience using version control (e.g., GitHub) for collaborative development. - A growth mindset and a desire to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with Interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, or experience with HIE integrations. - Basic understanding of event-driven architecture, Kafka, and/or MongoDB. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $64,890.00 - $158,620.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. Our people fuel our future.
