Senior Architect, OpenShift Application Platform

Red Hat

• Lead the design of complex, production-grade solutions based on Red Hat OpenShift, focusing on Internal Developer Platforms (like Red Hat Developer Hub/Backstage), CI/CD modernization, and AI-assisted workflows. • Lead technical discovery sessions, and workshops, to identify customer challenges and demonstrate the value of Red Hat's portfolio. • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on Platform Engineering and AI-Assisted Application Modernization for customer and internal teams, guiding them through design, pilot, and production deployments. • Work with customers to identify challenges and blockers to the adoption of modern software delivery practices and collaborate with them to address their technical and business requirements. • Work closely with Red Hat's product, engineering, professional services, and sales teams to ensure a world-class customer experience. • Develop and share best practices, reusable assets, and architectural patterns for application modernization, contribute to whitepapers and webinars, and speak at industry conferences.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a senior technology role like enterprise architecture, consulting, or sales engineering, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure solutions and platform adoption.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience building and managing Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs), optimizing developer workflows, and streamlining the path to production.
  • Direct, practical experience with AI-assisted coding assistants, AI-driven application modernization, and integrating LLMs/AI services into enterprise software delivery.
  • Significant experience with Kubernetes and container platform deployments in large organizations, preferably with Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Deep understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines, GitOps methodologies (e.g., ArgoCD, Tekton), and microservices architectures.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or its derivatives, in production enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand customer challenges and build long-lasting relationships.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations regularly.
  • Experience with automation frameworks and tools like Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is considered a plus.
  • Red Hat certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization, RHCA, RHCE) are considered a plus.
  • Experience with one or more public cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) is considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Lightspeed or integrating AI models into existing enterprise development toolchains is considered a plus.
  • Experience in a consulting or professional services role for a major software company is considered a plus.
