Head of Engineering

• Define and execute a technical roadmap that supports multiple products simultaneously. • Directly oversee the output and alignment of our 100+ person engineering organization. • Take ownership of our technical partnerships and infrastructure costs. • Maintain the reliability and performance of platforms serving 100M+ users. • Set the standard for code quality, system architecture, and security across the organization. • Regularly review the performance of our distributed development teams. • Build and refine our internal engineering team structure based on emerging product needs. • Identify opportunities to build shared services to accelerate development cycles across all product lines. • Work closely with Product and Growth leads to ensure technical efforts are aligned with business outcomes and profitability. • Evaluate new technologies, particularly in AI and automation, to ensure our products remain category leaders.
Job Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading large or rapidly scaling teams.
- A background in software development earlier in your career is highly valued.
- Experience leading engineering teams in environments with millions of active users.
- Ability to design systems that thrive under global pressure.
- Comfort with context-switching and managing a portfolio of products rather than a single product.
- Value 'clean enough' and 'fast' over 'perfect and slow.'
- Mastery of asynchronous communication and ability to build high-performing teams across multiple time zones.
- Understanding of building products for a global audience, from localization challenges to regional performance optimization.
