HyperHug is an international game development studio specializing in the shooter genre. Our main office is based in Cyprus, but our talented team works remotely from around the world. We’re developing Oxide: Survival Island, an immersive multiplayer survival shooter for mobile platforms, and we’re always looking for motivated individuals who want to grow with us, contribute their creativity, and help shape the future of our games. As a Senior 3D Artist, you will play a crucial role in defining the visual elements of our mobile shooter games. You will work closely with the design and development teams to create compelling, visually appealing 3D assets that enhance player immersion and drive gameplay mechanics. What You’ll Be Doing: - Create high-quality 3D models and textures, optimized for mobile platforms, focusing on characters, weapons, and props. - Maintain a consistent aesthetic across all visual elements in line with the game’s theme and target audience. - Optimize graphics for the best performance on mobile devices while maintaining aesthetic quality. - Provide creative and technical expertise to solve visual and game design challenges. - Collaborate with the technical team to integrate 3D art assets into the game engine, ensuring smooth transitions and functionality. - Lead, mentor, and provide feedback to junior 3D artists to foster skill development and maintain high-quality standards. - Stay updated with the latest trends in mobile gaming graphics and technology to continually improve our visual output. What We Expect From You: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in 3D modeling and texturing, specifically in the gaming industry, with a focus on mobile games. - Portfolio demonstrating relevant 3D work, particularly in mobile characters, weapons and props in realistic style. - Strong proficiency with 3D modeling tools such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, and texture creation tools like Substance Painter or Adobe Photoshop. - Demonstrated ability to create optimized assets that balance performance and visual quality on mobile platforms. - Solid understanding of mobile game asset creation pipelines and constraints. - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. - English - B1+ level, Russian - C1 level. Bonus If You Have: - Previous experience working on shooter games or action titles for mobile platforms. - Knowledge of Unity or another mobile game development engine. - Passion for mobile games and a keen interest in the shooter genre. • Design and animate video assets, motion graphics, transitions, characters, and storytelling elements • Create looping animations, expressive scenes, and narrative-driven sequences • Collaborate with template designers to ensure assets integrate seamlessly into user workflows • Work with product teams to understand new motion features and build assets that demonstrate them • Maintain high levels of craft while producing content at scalable volume • Participate in creative reviews, asset planning, and experimentation cycles • Stay up-to-date with animation trends, editing styles, and visual storytelling techniques
• Create and animate 2D game assets including characters, UI elements, and environment components, with a strong focus on quality and consistency • Design and implement VFX (particle systems, screen effects, juice effects) that add impact and excitement to gameplay moments • Collaborate closely with our 2 Game Artists & 3 Unity developers to integrate your work directly into the game engine and solve technical challenges together • Provide and analyze art references for new games and features; create mockups and style explorations to guide the visual direction • Iterate rapidly on animations and effects based on playtesting feedback and team input
• Act as the primary bridge between the Art and Engineering teams, ensuring the seamless integration of all art assets, including 2D, 3D, and animation into the Unity game engine. • Architect, document, and maintain the art asset creation and export pipelines. • Develop custom tools, scripts, and automation to empower artists and streamline tasks. • Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve technical art bottlenecks. • Maintain an optimal balance between visual quality and performance across all target mobile devices. • Design, create, and implement high-quality, performant visual effects to enhance visual fidelity. • Collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot and solve complex creative and technical issues. • Develop and maintain custom shaders, materials, and lighting setups within Unity. • Create clear, up-to-date documentation on technical art standards and best practices.
