IT Security Engineer

• The Information Security Engineer is responsible for advancing Telecare’s enterprise security posture through automation, orchestration, and modern zero-trust security architecture. • This role designs, builds, and maintains automated workflows across security tools and platforms to improve detection, response, and remediation efficiency. • In partnership with the Senior IT Security Analyst, the engineer will monitor and triage alerts, identify optimization opportunities, and develop automation playbooks using Python and Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) platforms. • The position also supports a Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution and collaborates with DevOps teams to mature Telecare’s DevSecOps capabilities and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline security. • The Information Security Engineer promotes a culture of proactive security by leveraging scripting, APIs, and modern zero-trust principles to enhance identity, endpoint, and cloud protection across the enterprise.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information systems, Computer Science, Information Security or related field or equivalent experience
- Five (5) years’ experience in information security or IT infrastructure with a focus on automation and scripting
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining automation in Python or similar language
- Hands-on experience with SOAR, SIEM, and EDR platforms (e.g., SentinelOne, Splunk, Microsoft Defender XDR, Cortex XSOAR, etc.)
- Working knowledge of identity, access, and privilege management (IAM/PAM)
- Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles and practical implementation
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and integration of security controls within CI/CD pipelines
- Certification (ie CISSP, GSEC) or equivalent experience required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Knowledge of network, cloud, and endpoint security concepts

• Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service • Respond to routine and some non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and after-hours service calls on a timely basis • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems for routine problems • Install projects as necessary • Completes accurate and detailed service reports for customer and Convergint in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking • May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation • Executes all service calls in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations as well as company health and safety policies and procedures • Responsible for primarily performing preventative maintenance for installed systems that are typically less complex • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
• Provide end-to-end project management leadership for cybersecurity initiatives, from execution through delivery • Own and maintain project plans, schedules, task dependencies, and milestones across multiple concurrent efforts • Drive day-to-day execution, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies • Act as the primary point of accountability, ensuring projects remain aligned with delivery timelines and stakeholder expectations • Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to technical teams, leadership, and client stakeholders
