Senior Web Design Engineer

Teleport

• Own the full lifecycle of Teleport product marketing microsites: information architecture, visual design, interaction design, frontend development, and deployment • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling pages that resonate with infrastructure and platform engineers • Establish and maintain visual language for product brands within the Teleport family • Write production-quality frontend code in a modern stack that other engineers can review and contribute to • Collaborate with Product teams to ensure technical accuracy of site content, code examples, and CLI references • Partner with Marketing to maintain alignment with corporate narrative, campaign goals, and go-to-market initiatives • Synthesize input from both Marketing and Product stakeholders into cohesive site experiences • Ship iterative improvements as products evolve, using usage data and user feedback to refine site experiences • Contribute to design and technical decisions through written documentation and RFCs

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience where you personally designed and built production frontend for web properties.
  • Produce high-fidelity design work in Figma (or equivalent) that is ready for stakeholder review.
  • Write production-quality code in React (Next.js preferred), TypeScript, and modern CSS (Tailwind or similar).
  • Portfolio includes work on developer-facing or technical product websites.
  • Demonstrated experience taking input from both Marketing and Product stakeholders.
  • Produce clear design rationale, technical documentation, and project updates in written form.
  • Identify what a site needs, propose solutions, and execute without waiting for detailed specifications.
  • Actively use AI tools to accelerate your design and development work.

Responsibilities - Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates for data center projects, including HVAC, chilled water systems, piping, plumbing, and mechanical equipment. - Perform comprehensive quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and BIM models, including CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, pumps, heat rejection equipment, and mechanical distribution systems. - Develop accurate labor, material, and equipment pricing models aligned with project budgets and delivery strategies. - Maintain historical cost data, benchmarks, and lessons learned to support future estimates. - Review mechanical contractor and subcontractor pricing to identify scope gaps, cost risk, and value improvement opportunities. - Support value engineering and design optioneering by evaluating alternative system configurations that improve performance, constructability, and cost efficiency. - Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to inform mechanical system decisions based on cost, schedule, and procurement considerations. - Identify and assess risks related to equipment lead times, specialized labor availability, and market volatility. - Account for regional cost variations across U.S. markets, including labor rates, logistics constraints, and material availability. - Support standardized data center designs and repeatable delivery models, maximizing economies of scale and speed to market. - Ensure estimates align with sustainability objectives, energy efficiency standards, and applicable codes and regulations. - Prepare clear, well-documented estimating deliverables for internal and external stakeholders. - Participate in cost reviews, procurement discussions, and commercial strategy sessions. - Support change management by evaluating mechanical scope changes and associated cost impacts throughout the project lifecycle. - SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
