Snyk
Snyk is the leader in secure AI software development, helping millions of developers develop fast and stay secure as AI transforms how software is built. Our AI-native Developer Security Platform integrates seamlessly into development and security workflows, making it easy to find, fix, and prevent vulnerabilities — from code and dependencies to containers and cloud. Our mission is to empower every developer to innovate securely in the AI era — boosting productivity while reducing business risk. We’re not your average security company - we build Snyk on One Team, Care Deeply, Customer Centric, and Forward Thinking. It’s how we stay driven, supportive, and always one step ahead as AI reshapes our world. Our OpportunitySnyk is the leader in secure AI software development, empowering millions of developers to innovate securely in the AI era. As a Staff Engineer in our Incubation accelerator, you will build transformative products from the ground up, operating with the agility of a startup while leveraging Snyk’s extensive infrastructure and industry insights. This role demands a founding engineer’s mindset. You will turn curiosity into tangible, shippable products, providing the initial spark and foundational execution for the next generation of Snyk’s offerings. While the role is primarily focused on the frontend, you will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, requiring strong backend knowledge and partnership with AI teams to build seamless integrations. What You’ll Do - Full-Stack Product Development: Design and implement highly responsive UI components and scalable backend solutions from scratch, owning the process from initial idea to shippable product. - Evolution of EVO: Lead the development of our AI-powered experience, ranging from intuitive agentic interfaces to complex data visualizations (charts, dashboards, and graphs) and deep platform integrations. - System Architecture: Architect flexible, scalable, and secure systems for AI applications, leading peers in driving decisions on complex cross-cutting problems through clear design documents like RFCs. - Data & Policy Lifecycle: Ensure users can visualize and manipulate AI-generated data to explore insights, manage the full policy/issue lifecycle with clear traceability, and navigate large-scale risk exposure across systems. - Rapid Prototyping: Build rapid prototypes to validate ideas, iterate based on customer feedback, and pivot quickly to achieve product-market fit. - Performance at Scale: Ensure the system efficiently handles and displays data from thousands or millions of repositories, maintaining high performance and a world-class user experience. - Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of high ownership, creativity, and technical excellence. What You Bring - 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience with a proven track record of building scalable, high-performance applications from scratch. - Deep experience in React JS and modern frameworks, with a passion for crafting exceptional, enterprise-level user interfaces. - Basic backend proficiency in modern coding languages alongside a solid understanding of cloud-native design, containerization, and microservices. - Experience with or passion for AI, especially GenAI/LLM systems. - Demonstrated ability to lead multi-engineer efforts, drive complex initiatives to impactful business outcomes, and articulate complex technical challenges to diverse stakeholders. It’d Be Awesome If You Also… - Enjoy working on early-stage products, engaging directly with customers to identify, prioritize, and solve problems iteratively. - Thrive in the face of ambiguous technical challenges, finding innovative solutions where others see roadblocks. - Are resilient in fluid environments where the goal is often to define the problem as much as it is to solve it. #LI-HW1 We care deeply about the warm, inclusive environment we’ve created and we value diversity – we welcome applications from those typically underrepresented in tech. If you like the sound of this role but are not totally sure whether you’re the right person, do apply anyway!
