Job DescriptionMotorola Solutions, an Security Solutions company, is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Business Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be expected to identify any issues through data analysis and make suggestions to implement change activities across the business department. As a Business Data Analyst at Motorola Solutions, you will work closely with our internal teams to lead and develop processes and be able to analyze data to then suggest business change across the organization. Responsibilities: - Conducting deep-dive analysis and fundamental insight to drive business decisions & performance - Extract & present data to the relevant business domain (both technical & non-technical) - Identify and implement opportunities to leverage LLMs and AI-driven workflows to solve business problems and optimize operational efficiency - Analyze & present reports on multiple data sources - Work collaboratively with multiple business stakeholders - Proactively seek opportunities in data to accelerate business objectives - Build, maintain & automate business intelligence dashboards and self-serve capability - Help define the right metrics across different teams and build out tracking frameworks - Prioritize, delivering and reporting projects, trends & requests. - Ensure data quality and integrity. Data Storytelling and Business Acumen: - Passion for business: Must be curious about business processes and market dynamics, continuously seeking improvements and new opportunities. - Strong data storytelling: Essential to move beyond raw numbers. Must craft compelling data narratives, presenting insights to non-technical stakeholders, clearly outlining business implications and recommended actions. Essential Technical Skills: - Essential SQL Expertise: Non-negotiable deep proficiency in SQL, including data modeling, optimized query writing, complex query debugging, and advanced features (joins, window functions, stored procedures, aggregate functions) for large relational databases. - Required Python Experience (2+ years): Minimum two years of Python experience covering data manipulation/cleaning (e.g., pandas), statistical analysis/modeling (e.g., numpy, scipy, scikit-learn), and report automation. - AI and Innovation: Proven ability to rapidly deploy LLM solutions to solve real-world problems within accelerated development cycles, paired with a strong foundational knowledge of Machine Learning concepts. - Strong Data Visualization Skills: Critical ability to clearly present results, requiring expert-level proficiency in tools like Tableau for designing interactive dashboards and reports, along with a strong understanding of visual design principles for user interpretation. - Exceptional Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills with High Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data analysis, consistently identifying nuances and drivers in complex datasets. Uses advanced critical thinking to diagnose problems and formulate effective, scalable, data-driven solutions. Precision ensures reliable analysis. - Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Proficient in creating clear, compelling communications (summaries, presentations, reports). Effectively translates complex data findings into actionable business insights for non-technical stakeholders and strategic decision-making. - Proven Ability to Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously in a Fast-Paced Environment: Highly organized and self-motivated, with a track record of successfully prioritizing and executing concurrent analytical initiatives from start to finish. Meets deadlines and adapts quickly to evolving requirements without compromising quality. Commitment to Writing Clean, Reusable Code and Maintaining Comprehensive Documentation: Adheres to best practices (data governance, software development). Ensures all scripts (SQL, Python, R) are modular, commented, optimized, and reproducible. Develops detailed documentation (data lineage, process flows, methodology) for knowledge transfer and minimal technical debt. How this role supports our work Bequests are a vital and growing source of untied income for Australian Red Cross, supporting our long-term humanitarian mission. The Specialist supports the development and delivery of strategies to build a sustainable portfolio of intenders, considerers, and confirmed bequestors. You will play a key part in the implementation of the bequest direct marketing strategy to help identify and convert leads into the Living Bequest Pipeline. What you will do day to day - Assist with the development and coordination of a multi-faceted, end-to-end direct marketing bequest program (including digital, direct mail, telemarketing, email, social media, and other relevant channels) to help identify, acquire, and convert leads into the Living Bequest Pipeline from both known Red Cross supporters and cold prospecting activities. - Support the management of relationships with key third-party suppliers, including telemarketing agencies, mail houses, and freelance copywriters and designers, to ensure the effective and timely delivery of campaign components. - Assist in engaging internal stakeholders to help maximise lead generation activities and conversion strategies across Fundraising, Partnerships, Members, Volunteers, and other relevant teams. - Support the promotion of the Australian Red Cross bequest program to the public by helping cultivate leads and awareness through advertising and promotional activities across print and digital channels aimed at cold audience acquisition. - Work in partnership with the Data & Insights team and key stakeholders to support the development and use of propensity models and reporting tools to evaluate direct marketing performance.
