Lumexa Imaging is seeking an experienced, thoughtful, and business-oriented Senior Operations Counsel to join its legal team. This attorney will provide day-to-day legal support across Lumexa’s national outpatient imaging platform, including its outpatient imaging centers, managed physician practices, IDTF-related operations, and related business functions. The Senior Operations Counsel will work closely with operational, physician, compliance, and executive leadership to provide clear, practical, and timely legal advice on a broad range of healthcare operational matters. The role is intended for an experienced healthcare lawyer with strong regulatory judgment, sound business instincts, and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to supporting a complex, multi-site provider platform. This is an operations-first role. It is anchored in healthcare operational and regulatory counseling, physician-model support, and effective leverage of legal team resources. The role will also support selected growth initiatives, partnerships, and transaction-related matters. Key Responsibilities: - Provide day-to-day legal support to Lumexa Imaging’s operations, including outpatient imaging centers, managed physician practices, IDTF-related operations, and related business functions. - Advise on healthcare operational, regulatory, contracting, and sales and marketing matters. - Provide legal guidance on physician and referral-source relationships and related issues. - Support physician employment, compensation, governance, and alignment matters. - Advise on payor and other operationally significant commercial arrangements. - Review, draft, and negotiate agreements central to the Company’s operating model, including services agreements, compensation models, research agreements, and other strategic agreements. - Partner with Compliance and business leadership to identify legal risks and develop practical recommendations. - Support de novo, operational, and other strategic initiatives by advising on legal considerations and implementation issues. - Assist with partnerships, joint ventures, and other growth or transaction-related matters. - Develop practical guidance and training on legal and regulatory issues affecting the business. - Supervise and help develop junior attorneys and legal staff. - Manage outside counsel effectively and efficiently. Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will be an experienced healthcare lawyer with strong operational instincts, sound judgment, collaborative mindset, and a practical style. This individual should be comfortable handling a broad range of matters independently in a fast-paced environment and should work effectively with executives, operators, physicians, compliance professionals, and outside counsel. Preferred Experience and Attributes: - At least 10 years of legal experience in healthcare law, with substantial experience in healthcare operations, contracting, and regulatory counseling. - Strong experience advising provider organizations, physician practices, IDTFs, or other multi-site healthcare platforms. - Meaningful experience with physician, referral-source, payor, and other healthcare arrangements. - Experience supporting business initiatives and strategic transactions in a healthcare setting. - Prior law firm and in-house experience preferred. - Experience in a growth-oriented, private equity-backed and/or public - company environment preferred. - Practical, business-oriented, and solutions-minded. - Clear and effective communicator with strong judgment and discretion. - Strong prioritization and project management skills. - Credible with executives, physicians, and operational leaders. - Effective in supervising junior lawyers and managing outside counsel.
