Title: Financial Analyst I Location: Los Angeles United States Full time Job Description: The Department of Anesthesiology provides state-of-the-art care supporting USC surgical, pain and critical care patients. Behind the success of the Department clinical service is a unique and highly-talented administrative team contributing to the Department's on-going development. The Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a Financial Analyst I to join the team. Essential job duties include, but are not limited to: - Prepare weekly visual reports on Operating Room scheduling efficiency and utilization. - Generate recurring reports for business operations, including monthly payroll reconciliation, and faculty clinical/nonclinical effort tracking - Process accounting journal entries as assigned. - Monitor and analyze Departmental financial performance on a regular basis; report findings and identify opportunities for improvement - Extract large volumes of data from organization's systems, and perform comprehensive analyses to identify trends and improvement opportunities - Provide analytical support for annual budgeting process - Assist in the preparation and monitoring of monthly invoicing and payroll processes for designated providers - Utilize advanced analytical tools (e.g., Tableau) to process and visualize large datasets; apply advanced Excel functions (e.g., complex formulas) to support ad-hoc analyses - Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business - 1 - 2 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis and/or data analytics - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and PowerPoint, as well as database query tools. - Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Detail orientated Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business - Experience in a hospital, medical group, or similar environment. - Proficiency in data visualization and analytical tools (e.g.,Tableau, Power BI), and/or programming languages - Experience with QGenda Follows established USC and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan. This position is hybrid on-site and employee must report to work at the USC Health Science Campus in Los Angeles, CA when scheduled. Work hours and on-site days may be subject to change depending on business needs. The hourly rate range for this position is $35.00 - $37.45.
