We are looking for a proven professional who is a self-starter with executive presence, contracting experience and a foundation in software sourcing and procurement, with AI experience preferred and cloud experience strongly valued. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. This position must be U.S.-based to support urgent escalations during core U.S. business hours. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: - Develop and support strategies for multiple technology services; manage supplier performance management programs; and execute sourcing and contracting processes. Specifically, this individual will be expected to: - Work with business teams to understand and support rapidly changing enterprise technology priorities, including AI and IoT use cases; execute negotiation strategies for contracting and requests for information; benchmark rates, negotiate and execute contract terms and conditions (leveraging UnitedHealth Group's internal subject matter experts, with accountability for terms, risk mitigation/compliance and internal protocols), and overall pricing strategy; and ensure supplier compliance with contract terms and conditions and pricing - Execute strategic sourcing initiatives across one or more business segments, including, but not limited to, overall sourcing and contracting strategy; and drive strategic sourcing efficiency through implementation of best practices - Understand and analyze technology categories and sourcing and contracting strategies; and ensure alignment of enterprise sourcing and contracting efforts, enterprise supply chain strategies with major technology vendors, and applicable business owner/category strategies in accordance with overall business and financial goals - Develop relationships with applicable stakeholders and suppliers, including executive level individuals, across the enterprise to serve as a dedicated customer relationship manager and supplier lifecycle owner, and to drive consistent, high-quality delivery of procurement programs and sourcing and contracting initiatives for AI, cloud, software and IoT suppliers - Evaluate supplier consolidation strategies, opportunities to leverage supplier spend (including, but not limited to, re-sourcing and re-negotiation of ongoing supplier relationships), cost savings opportunities and cost-benefit analyses; participate in vendor selection and competitive bidding strategy (e.g., RFPs, renegotiations, eSourcing) and leverage sourcing and contracting tools to drive process efficiencies, reduce costs, support time-to-market and manage enterprise risk You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
