Job Description
Product Management (Technical) Expert
Allstate
At Allstate, great things happen when our people work together to protect families and their belongings from life’s uncertainties. And for more than 90 years, our innovative drive has kept us a step ahead of our customers’ evolving needs. From advocating for seat belts, air bags and graduated driving laws, to being an industry leader in pricing sophistication, telematics, and, more recently, device and identity protection. Job Description As a Digital Product Manager Expert, you’ll be responsible for owning, modernizing, and evolving a core Policy Administration system of record within Allstate Dealer Services (ADS). This role requires deep ownership of the policy lifecycle, including product configuration, rating, issuance, endorsements, billing, servicing, and downstream integrations. You will lead the migration of a legacy monolithic Policy Administration platform onto Allstate’s C3 target state architecture, coordinating across multiple engineering, platform, and business teams inside and outside of ADS. In parallel, you will deliver new warranty and extended vehicle service contract products and capabilities required to support business growth. Successful candidates demonstrate strong system level thinking, can reason step by step through complex transactional workflows, and are comfortable operating close to technical detail while remaining accountable for business outcomes. This role requires rapid ramp up as a subject matter expert in ADS products, dealership finance and warranty workflows, and B2B distribution models. Key Responsibilities - Lead legacy‑to‑C3 platform migration efforts, including migration sequencing, parity validation, cutover readiness, and post‑migration stabilization. - Partner closely with engineering, architecture, and platform teams to reason through data models, effective‑dated transactions, integrations, and system behavior. - Decompose complex policy and platform problems into technically precise user stories and acceptance criteria that clearly express business rules and edge cases. - Balance migration work with delivery of new product features and enhancements required by dealership, agent, and operational partners. - Use customer, dealer, agent, and operational feedback—along with data analysis—to drive prioritization and product decisions. - Define and manage metrics to measure platform health, correctness, and product outcomes during and after migration. - Act as the voice of the customer and the business, investing time with dealerships, agents, and internal partners to understand workflows, constraints, and opportunities. - Manage and prioritize the product backlog, providing clear direction and timely feedback to engineering teams during delivery. - Collaborate across ADS, C3 platform teams, and other enterprise stakeholders to align dependencies and delivery timelines. Experience - 8+ years of product management or product ownership experience (preferred). - Direct experience with Policy Administration systems. - Strong understanding of warranty or insurance products, including policy lifecycle concepts, rating logic, and regulated transactional systems preferred. - Experience with extended vehicle service contracts, dealership Finance & Insurance (F&I) operations, or B2B distribution models is a strong plus. - Proven ownership of large‑scale platform or data‑critical migrations, not just feature re‑platforming. Skills Policy Administration Systems, Systems of Record, Technical Product Management, Data Modeling Concepts, Effective‑Dated Transactions, Migration Strategy, Cutover Planning, Backlog Decomposition, Technical User Story Writing, Cross‑Team Coordination, B2B Product Strategy, Warranty/Insurance Products, Problem Identification, Problem Investigation, Product Direction, Product Roadmapping, Systems Thinking Supervisory Responsibilities • This job does not have supervisory duties. Skills Business Case Analyses, Business Roadmaps, Communication, Create User Stories, Data Tracking, Problem Identification, Problem Investigation, Product Direction, Production Strategy, Product Management, Product Management Strategy, Product Roadmapping, Product Strategies, Product Vision, Systems Thinking, User Studies Compensation Base compensation offered for this role is $120,000.00 - $180,100.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications. *** Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e., commission, bonus, etc.) as applicable for the role. The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation. Joining our team isn’t just a job — it’s an opportunity.
