• The Mock Trial Instructor is responsible for guiding high school and/or middle school students through Education Unlimited’s mock trial curriculum. • Instructors teach daily seminars and workshops. • Instructors should be natural leaders and enthusiastic about working with young people. • Instructors should be prepared to give small lectures throughout the week, and also manage and prep students for trial. • Instructors will be responsible for tracking student work and handing in any deliverables to the camp director and EU home office.

• Provide an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. • Organize and implement an instructional program that results in students achieving academic success in accordance with FLVS and state policies and laws. • Plan, prepare, and implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. • Identify, select, create, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement. • Maintain effective and efficient record-keeping procedures. • Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. • Communicate with students, parents, and internal and external professionals within established timelines. • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment for students by participating in activities which include, but are not limited to, team teaching, meetings, staff development, communities of practice, and various committees. • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community members. • Ensure that student growth and achievement are continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification. • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, schools, and colleagues measured by FLVS district/school survey results. • Meet specific course and school-wide student performance goals. • Demonstrate gains in student performance. • Participate in research and presentations about online teaching; this may include activities such as, authoring articles, hosting workshops, sharing of information for professional growth, and student outreach events and activities. • Participate in blended learning models, which include both online and classroom instruction and interaction with students at various schools and districts across the state; may be required to report to an assigned school. • May be responsible for instructional tutoring. • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others.

• Prepare for and support instruction during scheduled learning labs, helping deliver lessons aligned with MVA’s curriculum. • Monitor the virtual classroom’s waiting room and admit attendees based on established criteria. • Take accurate attendance of students and track learning lab participation. • Monitor chat interactions to keep students focused and on task, and send messages to facilitate classroom management. • Remove students from the virtual classroom when necessary, according to guidelines. • Support curriculum teachers with attendance, technology, and classroom management during assigned learning labs. • Work closely with other middle school staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience. • Attend all required trainings, weekly team meetings, all-staff and middle school staff meetings, support staff meetings, and 1:1 meetings with your Lead as scheduled.

• Facilitate synchronous and asynchronous virtual instruction, fostering an interactive and engaging learning environment. • Utilize a variety of multimedia tools, platforms, and technologies including mixed and extended reality to enhance the learning experience. • Tailor your instructional delivery approach to accommodate different learning styles and abilities within a virtual setting. • Provide clear explanations of complex concepts and encourage learner participation and critical thinking. • Facilitate discussions, group activities, and projects to promote collaborative learning among learners in video-streamed and virtual reality environments. • Monitor and assess learner progress, providing timely feedback and support to address individual learning needs. • Maintain an online presence throughout the instructional day, promptly responding to learner inquiries and concerns via email, chat, and other communication channels. • Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in virtual instruction and online education. • Collaborate with instructional designers, technology support teams, and fellow instructors to continuously improve the virtual learning experience. • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject matter expertise. • Uphold academic integrity and ethical standards in all interactions and assessments.
