EPM
• Lead and mentor a team of underwriters, providing training and support to enhance skills and ensure high performance. • Oversee daily operations to maximize productivity, improve efficiency, and meet underwriting turn times and SLAs. • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and conduct regular performance reviews with measurable goals. • Ensure underwriting quality through consistent quality checks and compliance with regulatory and company guidelines. • Act as the escalation point for complex or high-risk loan files and support second-level loan reviews. • Manage team pipelines during absences, ensuring uninterrupted loan processing. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and company policies to ensure all mortgage applications are underwritten in accordance with current standards. • Additional responsibilities related to business needs.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience required.
- 3+ years of management experience in mortgage operations required.
- Wholesale underwriting experience required.
- Proficiency with Encompass LOS required.
- Knowledge of home loans and residential mortgages such as conventional, VA, FHA, USDA, Non-QM loans, and loan products.
- DE/CHUMS and LAPP/SARS certifications required.
- Knowledgeable in automated underwriting systems and Microsoft office.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team to meet goals and maintain high standards.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
