The Opportunity Intertek CEA is looking for Solar PV Field Test Technicians to support our growing EU operations. This is a field-based role focused on on-site testing, inspections, and technical verification activities across solar PV projects. You will play a key role in ensuring installation quality, performance validation, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. About Intertek CEA Clean Energy Associates (CEA), an Intertek company, provides technical due diligence and engineering services to solar and energy storage stakeholders globally, including financial institutions, developers, EPCs, IPPs, and asset owners. Our services span the full project lifecycle—from factory quality assurance and product inspections to system design, energy forecasting, and field performance validation. With 125+ professionals and 85+ engineers, CEA has supported over 55 GW across 50+ countries, helping clients reduce risk and improve investment outcomes. Key Responsibilities - Perform on-site inspections of solar PV installations to verify construction quality and compliance - Conduct visual and electrical testing following standardized protocols - Validate field measurements and test data ensuring alignment with site conditions - Identify, document, and track defects, deviations, and safety issues - Support performance testing activities, including: - IV curve tracing - Electroluminescence (EL) imaging - Thermographic inspections - Insulation resistance testing - - Operate and maintain field equipment (IV tracers, EL cameras, IR cameras, multimeters, clamp meters) - Coordinate with clients, contractors, and site teams to ensure readiness and smooth execution of testing activities - Participate in site meetings and communicate findings clearly - Contribute to field reports and technical documentation - Support collection and preliminary review of PR measurements and performance indicators

Job Requirements

  • What We’re Looking For
  • Technical diploma or certification in electrical, renewable energy, or related field
  • (Relevant hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of formal education)
  • Basic understanding of solar PV systems or electrical installations
  • Experience with field testing, inspections, or electrical measurements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently on site
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital tools
  • Nice to have:
  • Experience with PV testing equipment (IV tracers, EL, thermography)
  • Familiarity with PV modules, inverters, or system performance analysis
  • Experience with DSLR cameras for technical documentation
  • Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Europe
  • Ability to work in outdoor and demanding environments (temperature variations, long hours, night work when required)
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when necessary
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Basic awareness of safety standards and site protocols

Position Responsibilities: - With agreement of leadership for Boeing-North Island (B-NI)- F/A-18 SLM Management and BGS Field Operations, the FSR's primary mission will be to provide direct support to B-NI F/A-18 SLM - Provide on-site assistance to B-NI F/A-18 SLM Flight Operations Mechanics (FOM) and management to solve difficult system maintenance problems & troubleshooting - Primary POC daily for taskings will be the B-NI F/A-18 SLM Technical Integrator.
