Job Description
Sales and Account Manager
Recruitment
Role Description This is not a "sit and wait for leads" kind of gig. This is a hunting role. You'll be the engine behind the company's commercial growth, driving outbound sales activity, building relationships with developers, landowners, planning consultants, and local authorities across the UK market, all from the comfort of your home office in South Africa. You'll own the pipeline from first conversation to closed deal, working closely with the senior team on larger opportunities while running smaller and mid-sized deals independently. The sales cycle is longer (6-12 months), so this suits someone who knows how to nurture relationships, stay consistent, and play the long game without losing their edge. Qualifications - Proven experience in sales, account management, or business development - Strong outbound sales ability and confidence in picking up the phone and initiating conversations - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English - Highly organised with strong attention to detail - Experience using CRM systems and managing sales pipelines - Comfortable working remotely and independently with minimal supervision - Self-motivated, resilient, and consistent in the face of longer sales cycles Requirements - Experience in property, planning, environmental, or land-based sectors (advantageous) - Familiarity with the UK development or planning ecosystem (advantageous) - Experience working with consultants, developers, or landowners (advantageous) - Experience supporting or working alongside senior sales teams (advantageous) Key Responsibilities - Proactively identify and engage local developers, planning consultants, and agents across the UK market - Promote habitat bank sites as simple, low-risk biodiversity solutions to prospective buyers - Build awareness of available sites and drive early-stage conversations that convert - Conduct consistent outbound outreach through calls, emails, and follow-ups to keep the pipeline moving - Develop relationships with Local Planning Authorities and position the company within recommended provider networks - Qualify and manage sales opportunities through the full pipeline lifecycle - Maintain accurate, disciplined records in CRM (Pipedrive or equivalent), logging all interactions and next steps - Support pipeline tracking, reporting, and forecasting - Identify consultancy, partnership, and new landowner onboarding opportunities - Contribute market insights and commercial intelligence to the broader business strategy Benefits - A front-row seat in one of the UK's fastest-growing green markets - Uncapped commission with serious earning potential - Full autonomy and ownership of your role - Exposure to biodiversity net gain, natural capital, and renewables, sectors that are shaping the future - Direct collaboration with the CEO and senior commercial team - Training and development in product, market, and sales processes - Fully remote working
