About the role Dow has an exciting opportunity for an IT Senior BW Developer located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX or Virtual Office. This role will make significant technical contributions to our evolving SAP landscape and is pivotal in supporting our current SAP BW 7.5 on HANA environment and leading our transition to next-generation platforms, including SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Business Data Cloud, Databricks, and Microsoft Azure technologies. You will be responsible for architecting, optimizing, and delivering robust SAP and cloud-based data solutions that power advanced analytics, reporting, and enterprise transformation. As an experienced Independent Contributor, you will drive key technical aspects and take ownership of major features within SAP and cloud projects, collaborating closely with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams: - Technical Solution Implementation: Translate high-level solution designs into scalable, efficient SAP BW 7.5 on HANA developments. Deliver robust data models, transformations, and reporting solutions. - Performance Optimization: Support and optimize existing BW processes and data flows, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security across SAP and cloud platforms. - Strategic Transition Leadership: Contribute to the strategic migration to SAP BW/4HANA and cloud-based platforms, applying new technologies such as SAP BDC, Databricks, and Azure data services. - Agile Collaboration: Participate in agile development cycles and cross-functional project teams, driving innovation and continuous improvement. - Continuous Learning: Learn and apply emerging SAP and cloud technologies to enhance solution capabilities and business outcomes. A successful candidate will possess the experience and technical depth required to independently implement and optimize complex SAP and cloud solutions: - SAP BW 7.5 on HANA: 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BW 7.5 on HANA development, including data modeling, ETL processes, ABAP & AMDP, and performance tuning. - Modern SAP Technologies: Demonstrated aptitude or experience with SAP BW/4HANA, BDC, and cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Azure Synapse, or Azure Data Factory. - Cloud Integration: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure architecture and services, and experience integrating SAP with cloud data platforms. - Collaboration & Communication: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently from high-level designs and deliver production-ready solutions. - Agile & Hybrid Experience: Experience working in agile or hybrid project environments. Your Skills - SAP BW 7.5 on HANA Development: Deep expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, transformations, and performance tuning within BW 7.5 on HANA. - Modern SAP Platform Proficiency (S/4HANA, SAC, BTP): Skilled in next-generation SAP technologies, supporting migration efforts and building scalable analytics and reporting solutions. - Cloud Data Integration (Azure, Databricks, Synapse, ADF): Ability to integrate SAP systems with cloud data platforms using Azure services and Databricks to enable hybrid SAP–cloud architectures. - Performance Optimization & Solution Engineering: Strong capability to optimize BW data flows, improve data reliability and security, and translate high‑level solution designs into production-ready implementations. - Communication, Collaboration & Agile Delivery: Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience contributing in agile or hybrid project environments. Required Qualifications - A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking OR 5 years of relevant experienced in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. - Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in SAP BW 7.5 on HANA development. - A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with SAP BW/4HANA implementations or migrations. - Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, with a solid focus on ABAP and AMDP-based implementations for efficient data transformations, push-down logic, and performance tuning in SAP BW on HANA. - Demonstrated experience with modern SAP technologies (BW/4HANA, BDC). - Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory). - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Exposure to SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP Datasphere. - Knowledge of Microsoft Azure architecture and services. - Experience working in agile or hybrid project environments.
