Position Summary The primary responsibilities of the Patient Care Coordinator (PCC)- WFH are to provide an optimal customer service experience for our patients, physicians, caregivers, and internal departments to answer questions, solve problems, provide education, and maintain our company’s reputation for high-quality service. Responsibilities will also include verifying insurance coverage, perform benefit investigation, and obtain prior authorization. The PCC will support the patient from the point of admissions/onboarding through the benefits verification and billing process to ensure a seamless experience for the customer. Required Qualifications - Two years’ experience in a customer service or high-volume call center role - One yr. experience healthcare, pharmacy, medical insurance, or billing environment - Minimum one year experience working in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word. Essential Qualifications and Functions: Knowledge of: - Excellent verbal communication skills including active listening. - Working knowledge of insurance, health care, processing of new referrals, providing customer education, and routine assessment and problem identification - Ability to assess a situation and identify potential issues or problems. - Ability to education and explain complex information in a simplified manner. - Ability to display empathy and patience when dealing with confused or irate customer. - Attention to detail with the ability to capture necessary information from the patient discussion while toggling between numerous computer applications. - Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively. - Ability to work independent and to be self-directed to complete responsibilities. - Sits at desk for long periods of time. - Talking on phone for extended periods of time - Computer use for extended periods of time. - Reading a computer screen Preferred Qualifications - Preferred pharmacy, PBM or Specialty pharmacy experience - Preferred experience working with medical billing procedure. - Preferred experience working with Prior authorizations. - Preferred knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party vendors. - Preferred knowledge of government and patient assistance programs Education (P-Preferred, R-Required P - Equivalent Experience R - High School Diploma or General Equivalent Development (GED) Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $17.00 - $31.30 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. Our people fuel our future.
