Overview We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of motor damage, credit hire, and personal injury claims. From first notification to settlement, you’ll play a key role in ensuring claims are handled efficiently, fairly, and in line with our standards. In this role, you’ll evaluate claims, check policy coverage, and set reserves accurately. You’ll conduct liability enquiries, assess claim value, and negotiate settlements within your authority. Providing clear and courteous communication to all stakeholders will be central to your success. How you'll make an impact - Manage a portfolio of motor damage, credit hire and personal injury claims from first notification to settlement - Evaluate and record claims on our in-house system within product standards, check policy coverage, and allocate appropriate codes and reserves - Conduct liability enquiries in line with the Adjuster’s Manual using the most appropriate method - Evaluate quantum by collecting relevant evidence and adjusting reserves in accordance with Gallagher Bassett's realistic reserving philosophy - Clearly explain decisions on liability and negotiate settlements within authority levels where appropriate - Respond to all written and phone enquiries clearly, courteously, and promptly - Regularly monitor claims using the diary system to ensure accurate reserves and timely closure About You - Credit hire claims or personal injury claims experience (Essential) - Ability to deal with customers respectfully - Good attention to detail - Eligible to work in the UK Please be advised that, due to the nature of this role and the type of clients we serve, an enhanced external background check is a requisite part of our recruitment process.
