NJR Clean Energy Ventures (CEV), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support CEV in the delivery of successful solar development and construction projects by providing expertise in cost management, schedule control, risk management, reporting, and performance analysis. Works closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and finance partners to support compliance requirements, maintain project systems, and track materials and inventory-helping ensure projects stay within scope, budget, and on schedule. Major Responsibilities:• Monitor project budgets, schedules, and performance against approved baselines.• Track commitments, expenditures, variances, and change orders across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phases.• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and performance analyses for project teams and senior management.• Ensure project financials align with corporate accounting standards and reporting requirements.• Identify cost and schedule risks and recommend mitigation strategies.• Support scenario planning related to delays, scope changes, or budget impacts and contributes to project risk identification, quantification, and mitigation planning.• Maintain project dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).• Ensure project data and document accuracy of the internal project database.• Support compliance with project controls processes, audits, and regulatory requirements.• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, construction, procurement, and finance teams to ensure transparent data flow.• Support project kickoffs, status meetings, and ad-hoc reviews.• Ensure continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to project controls processes, internal project tracker software, tools, and methodologies. Position Requirements:• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Math, Finance, or related field plus 3 years of related project controls experience; or a combination of education and experience, including 10+ years of progressive project controls experience, may be considered in lieu of a degree.• Solar, renewable energy, construction, or utility industry experience preferred.• Experience supporting commercial solar EPC projects preferred.• Advanced proficiency in project controls methodologies including Critical Path Method scheduling, dependency and logic management, cost estimating and forecasting, earned value management, variance and risk analysis, change control, and data-driven reporting using tools.• Advanced proficiency with scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).• Strong Excel and data analytics skills; experience with Power BI or similar tools a plus.• Expert competency in schedule and cost control.• Familiarity with solar project lifecycles, permitting requirements, procurement processes, and construction workflows is a strong advantage.• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.• Collaborative attitude with a proactive problem solving approach.• Up to 20% travel to site locations.* The above job description is reflective of the primary duties of this position and in no way limits the supervisor from assigning any other duties, responsibilities or initiatives as deemed necessary. Where Will I Work? This role requires occasional in-office attendance for meetings, mentorship, and team collaboration. Managers should connect weekly with their teams.
