Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Senior Oracle Database Administrator Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator to provide end-to-end database administration support for business-critical applications across production and non-production environments. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, security, and reliability of Oracle database platforms while supporting modern architectures and cloud-based deployments. Key Roles and Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive database administration support for mission-critical applications in both production and non-production environments. - Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of Oracle database systems. - Administer Oracle databases across multiple operating systems, including but not limited to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows. - Install, configure, and manage Oracle Server versions 12c, 19c, and 21c, including Oracle RAC on multi-node systems. - Configure, administer, and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control. - Plan and execute Oracle database upgrades and patching activities. - Design, implement, and maintain reliable backup and recovery strategies using RMAN. - Proactively manage database security, including compliance with security standards, access controls, SSL, and encryption. - Apply Oracle security patches and bug fixes in both non-production and production environments. - Develop, maintain, and support database maintenance and automation scripts. - Create and maintain database design documentation and operational support guides. - Configure and manage Oracle Data Guard and Active Data Guard, including automatic failover using Data Guard Broker. - Configure and support multitenant architecture, including Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB). - Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support critical systems. Required Skills and Qualifications - Oracle Database Administration professional with 5+ years of hands-on experience, primarily with Oracle Database 19c. - Proven experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c or later. - Strong operating system experience, particularly with Linux/Unix environments. - At least 3 years of experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication. - Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience administering Oracle RAC environments. - Strong working knowledge of Oracle management and utility tools, including Data Guard, Active Data Guard, RMAN, and Data Loader. - Experience administering databases on Oracle Exadata and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure. - Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Oracle Partitioning. - Strong Unix/Linux shell scripting skills. - Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving. - Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Preferred Qualifications - Experience administering PostgreSQL databases. - Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases. - Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification.
