• Design, build, administer, and support SQL database environments across customer-managed platforms • Ensure database performance, availability, reliability, and security in production environments • Monitor, diagnose, and resolve database performance and stability issues • Perform backup, restore, HA/DR, and disaster recovery planning and execution • Optimize existing environments and contribute to standardization through documentation and SOPs • Engage directly with customers through incident response, change requests, meetings, and status updates

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting SQL database environments (managed services experience preferred)
  • Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (on-prem and/or cloud-based)
  • Strong knowledge of: Backup and restore strategies, High availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR), Performance tuning and optimization
  • Experience supporting large or complex database environments
  • Exposure to at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • One or more database-related certifications, such as: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Database – Specialty, GCP Cloud Database Engineer (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire)
  • ITIL v3+ (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)

The Database Administrator Senior maintains the Division’s database systems, including back-up, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring critical events, and documentation. This position is conversant with and cognizant of the future direction of systems, how that directly impacts the organization, and how future and current database systems can be developed for the organization’s benefit. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. Role Description Provides database support by verifying databases associated with network tools and solutions function as required.
