Job Description

Senior Associate, Fund Structuring - Singapore

IIX Global

About IIX Global IIX (Impact Investment Exchange) is a Singapore-headquartered pioneer in impact investing, connecting capital markets with sustainable development. For over a decade, IIX has been building the infrastructure for impact — structuring innovative financial instruments, running donor-funded development programs, and developing digital platforms that serve impact investors, enterprises, and communities across Asia and beyond. Our work spans impact-linked securities, blended finance, gender-lens investing, and climate finance — always with the goal of mobilizing private capital for social and environmental good. We are a lean, mission-obsessed team. Everyone here wears multiple hats, moves fast, and cares deeply about the work. If that energizes you, you'll thrive at IIX. Role Purpose IIX is establishing a new closed-end blended climate debt fund targeting emerging markets across Southeast Asia and the Pacific, and we are looking for a hands-on Senior Associate to sit at the heart of the fund formation workstream. This role exists to provide rigorous analytical, modelling, and documentation support across every stage of the fund's structuring — from building waterfall models and benchmarking blended finance structures to maintaining the data room and supporting LP due diligence. You will work directly alongside the CIO and Senior Fund Structuring Advisor, gaining exceptional exposure to closed-end fund mechanics, DFI engagement, and impact-linked instrument design. Success in this role means the fund's first close is supported by a well-modelled, well-documented, and well-organised structuring process. Key Responsibilities: Financial Modelling & Fund Economics - Build and maintain the fund economics model — covering waterfall mechanics, IRR scenarios, LP return projections, and blended finance leverage analysis - Model capital call schedules, deployment timelines, and distribution mechanics across senior, mezzanine, and concessional tranches - Run sensitivity analysis across key assumptions including interest rates, deployment pace, default scenarios, and concessional capital pricing - Model impact-linked interest rate adjustment mechanics under various sustainability KPI achievement scenarios - Develop and maintain the warrant valuation model for first-close loan structures Fund Documentation & Data Room - Prepare first drafts and working versions of LPA schedules, investment policy statements, and fund fact sheets in coordination with external counsel - Maintain a structured data room and document tracker across all fund structuring workstreams - Compile and format LP-facing fund structure summaries, term sheet comparisons, and technical FAQ documents - Prepare Investment Committee presentation materials relating to fund structure and blended finance mechanics - Draft summaries of side letter terms and maintain a side letter obligation tracker Credit Guarantee Facility Support - Build financial models of the credit guarantee facility, including first-loss sizing and trigger scenario analysis - Prepare comparative analysis of guarantee structures from comparable DFI-backed emerging market funds - Track and document DFI guarantor requirements and term sheet feedback from anchor concessional investors - Support documentation of Partial Credit Guarantee (PCG) mechanisms and local bank counterparty agreements Research & Benchmarking - Research and benchmark comparable blended finance funds — structure, fee models, DFI participation mechanics, and LP terms - Monitor regulatory updates relevant to Singapore VCC structures and MAS licensing requirements - Compile precedent transaction analysis to support fund structuring decisions - Research sustainability-linked loan market standards, ICMA principles, and gender/climate KPI frameworks relevant to the fund Coordination & Project Management - Maintain a master project tracker for the fund structuring workstream — milestones, owners, and dependencies - Coordinate between external fund counsel, the Senior Advisor, and IIX's internal investment and finance teams - Prepare meeting notes, action logs, and follow-up materials from structuring calls and LP technical meetings - Support due diligence response preparation for LP queries relating to fund structure and blended finance mechanics WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Experience & Skills - 4–6 years of experience in investment banking, fund administration, development finance, structured finance, or a closely related field - Strong financial modelling skills — proficient in Excel; demonstrated ability to build fund-level waterfall and IRR models - Exposure to fund documentation (LPAs, subscription agreements, offering memoranda) in a professional context - Excellent written English and quantitative skills — able to produce clear, professional deliverables independently - Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, law, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification or CFA progress is an advantage - Familiarity with Singapore VCC structures, closed-end fund mechanics, or DFI financing instruments is a plus - Prior experience in a fund formation, structured finance, or blended finance context is preferred - Exposure to impact investing, ESG frameworks, gender-lens investing, or sustainable finance instruments is an advantage The Person - Detail-oriented with high accuracy — you catch errors in models and documents before they leave your desk - Self-directed and proactive — you manage multiple workstreams with limited supervision and flag blockers early - Collaborative by nature — you work well as part of a lean, senior-led team and bring energy to shared deliverables - Mission-aligned — you are genuinely motivated by the opportunity to mobilise capital for gender equity and climate resilience - Eager to learn — you will be mentored directly by senior blended finance professionals and expected to grow fast THE PREM FRAMEWORK Every IIX team member is a PREM professional. We look for these qualities in everyone we hire: P Passionate Mission-driven & purpose-led R Resilient Thrives under pressure & ambiguity E Equitable Champions fairness & inclusion M Maverick Bold, entrepreneurial thinker WHY IIX - Work at the heart of a live fund formation process — your models, documents, and analysis will directly shape the fund's architecture and first close - Direct mentorship from senior blended finance and investment professionals across a high-exposure workstream - Rare opportunity to gain hands-on closed-end fund structuring experience in the emerging market impact investing space - High-trust, lean team environment — minimal bureaucracy, maximum ownership - A culture that takes PREM values seriously — you will be seen, heard, and valued HOW TO APPLY To apply, please send your CV and a cover note (1 page maximum) with the subject line: Senior Associate, Fund Structuring. In your cover note, tell us about a financial model or structured finance analysis you built — what the challenge was, how you approached it, and what it produced.
