Business Development Director – Cell & Gene Therapy (Europe) Location: Europe, home‑based Territory: Pan‑European Reporting to the Regional Director, Business Development Europe, this role is accountable for driving new business growth across Europe for Catalent’s Cell & Gene Therapy development and commercial manufacturing services. This is a pure new‑business, hunter role focused on originating, qualifying, and converting high‑value CDMO opportunities with biotech and pharmaceutical clients across the CGT landscape. The Role - Own and deliver new business revenue, pipeline, and bookings targets across Europe - Proactively identify, pursue, and close new customer opportunities in Cell & Gene Therapy - Build senior‑level relationships within European biotech and pharma organisations - Lead customer engagements, pitches, and negotiations through to contract signature - Work cross‑functionally with Technical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Proposal teams to shape winning solutions - Drive opportunities through the full sales lifecycle, from first contact to MSA execution - Represent Catalent at European partnering events, conferences, and industry meetings - Maintain accurate opportunity and pipeline data in CRM - Negotiate CDAs, proposals, and MSAs in line with commercial objectives The Candidate - Degree in Life Sciences (BSc, MSc, or PhD) - Strong Cell and/or Gene Therapy experience (essential) - 5–10 years’ success in European life sciences business development, ideally within a CDMO - Proven track record of winning new business, not account maintenance - Existing network across European biotech and pharma - Commercially driven, resilient, and highly self‑motivated - Able to articulate complex technical value propositions to senior stakeholders - Strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills (English required) - Comfortable operating independently in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment - Willing to travel extensively across Europe (up to 50%) Catalent offers rewarding opportunities to further your career!
