For more information, visit www.blend360.com. What is this position about? We are looking for Data Architect to lead the initial phase of a data platform transformation. This person will be responsible for evaluating the current Databricks environment, defining the target architecture, and establishing the technical foundation for scalable, governed data solutions in the cloud. Job Description - Assess the existing Databricks environment and evaluate prior implementations - Identify components that can be leveraged versus those requiring redesign or rebuild - Analyze and map source systems (e.g., CareMore) to support scalable data ingestion and integration - Design the target-state medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) - Define ingestion and transformation strategies using modern data engineering practices - Establish governance and security framework leveraging Unity Catalog - Define data modeling standards for downstream analytics and reporting (Gold layer readiness) - Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure architecture is implementable and scalable - Document architecture decisions, trade-offs, and best practices for execution teams Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree. - Strong experience with Databricks and modern data lakehouse architectures - Advanced proficiency in SQL for data modeling, transformation, and performance optimization - Strong programming skills in Python (PySpark preferred) for data processing and pipeline design - Hands-on experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines at scale - Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP also relevant), including storage, compute, and security services - Proven experience designing medallion architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold) - Experience with data governance and security frameworks (Unity Catalog or similar) - Ability to assess legacy systems and define modernization or migration strategies Nice to Have - Experience with Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, or Auto Loader - Knowledge of data quality frameworks and validation approaches - Familiarity with healthcare data models and EMPI design - Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform, etc.), and DevOps practices for data platforms - Understanding of data privacy and compliance (HIPAA or similar) What about languages?
