Title and Summary Lead Network Engineer Overview Lead Network Operations Engineer: Mastercard is seeking a seasoned Lead Network Operations Engineer to join its Global Network Operation support team. In this senior role, you will lead Level 2+ network support for our application teams and global command centre, driving incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous network optimisation efforts. You'll apply deep technical expertise in Check Point firewalls, F5 load balancers, Routing and Switching to enhance network performance, reliability, and security. Key responsibilities include packet-level diagnostics, supporting strategic infrastructure projects, mentoring junior engineers, and participating in the out-of-hours on-call rotation. This is a high-impact lead role where you'll influence Mastercard's global network operations thinking while fostering operational excellence and team development. Role:• Perform Tier II Network support to the MasterCard business.• Provide Network support to project teams in support of infrastructure deliverables.• Perform proactive network analysis to ensure network integrity and performance is in an optimal state.• Create or update documentation to support the environment as required.• Plan, coordinate and implement changes to the network following our internal change control process.• Produce reports in support of any issues resolved or progressed by you.• Some on-call responsibility and occasional off hours work required.• Mentor more junior members of the team. All about you: • Have a track record of leading technical solutions to problems involving cross team collaboration. • Demonstrated knowledge levels and experience operating in an enterprise class Network Infrastructure environment. Experience in payments industry is a plus.• Strong Communication and documentation skills.• Strong analytical/problem solving skills with troubleshooting experience in a pressured environment. • Good understanding of BGP, IBGP, OSPF routing protocols • Knowledge of Arista routers and switches.• Cisco routers/switches, ASR, ISR, Nexus 5K, 7K, 6k, 9K, 3540, 3850.• Firewalls, Checkpoint, fortigate, Cisco ASA and Palo Alto.• Strong F5 Load balancer experience.• Palo Alto Global Protect, supporting cloud infra upgrades and vpn issues for remote workers.• SDWAN practical exposure in supporting and maintaining SDWAN infrastructure.• Aruba Wifi WAN deployments (Aruba Certified, ACSP, ACMA, ACMP, ACDX).• WAN Communications (MPLS/GRE Tunneling)• Knowledge of working with Teclo carriers in the delivery & maintenance of MPLS/Internet circuits.• Automation experience, delivering change or provisioning via the use of automation tools (Glueware, Tufin, Checkpoint CDT, Python scripting, Ansible or others).• Supporting Palo Alto Prisma or Cisco AnyConnect remote VPN services.• Knowledge of cisco Fabric Path and VXLAN.• Strong Communication and documentation skills.• Strong analytical/problem solving skills with troubleshooting experience in a pressured environment. • Experience in operating under a global follow the sun model.• Must be able to work individually and as part of a team. • Flexible and Self-motivated.• Willing and able to adapt to legacy and new technologies. • Fluent in English. ALL about you desired:• Experience in Payments / Fintech industry in support of authorization traffic or file transmissions.• Experience in working with an operations command center or network operations center in support of Incident calls.• Basic UNIXLinux scripting skills.• Use of a variety of network monitoring tools. • Experience of Batchjob scheduling applications (TWS).• Knowledge of tandem mainframe technology.• Knowledge and experience of using Esxi based solutions. Your Responsibilities and Impact will include: - Primary responsibility of assigned provider group’s performance - quality, stars and financial performance. - Assist network managers with monthly JOC meeting preparations, research outliers in financial reports, audit reports for accuracy, assist with follow up items from meetings. - Auditing functions: provider set up in Orinoco (demographic and fee schedules), online search tool, print directory, Periscope reports, claims payment. Determine root cause of issues and recommend process improvements. Provide clear analysis and next steps for the network team. - Analysis of network cases and grievances , determination of track and trend or provider outreach, complete outreach as needed, prepare monthly reporting. - Support network adequacy in existing and expansion counties. Contract processing, to include: obtaining contract signatures, preparing provider rosters, submitting contract load form. - Assistance with Field Network cases, outreach to providers, documentation of resolution. - Evaluate participation requests against network need, performance metrics, current contractual relationships, expansion efforts, access to care. Make recommendations to management and the national contracting team. Contract as directed by local leadership. Respond accordingly to providers. - Required skills and experience: - 3+ years of direct provider interaction - 3+ years healthcare experience with Medicare Advantage or other relevant experience. - Proven track record of detail oriented work - Ability to navigate Google or MS Suite of products as well as AI - Experience in claims research, provider set up, root cause analysis, process improvement. • To ensure clients and Managed Care Organization’s covered employees are provided information on eligibility, coverage, providers, general procedure instructions, and regulations regarding MCO services; • To work with MCO provider on physician credentialing, MCO additions and removals, network and problematic issues. • Works directly with clients, program managers, and MCO covered injured workers to ensure they are provided information on eligibility, coverage, provider identification, general procedure instructions, and regulations regarding Sedgwick CMS (company) MCO’S. • Works with the company Medical Director and vendor partner(s) on physician identification and credentialing processes, MCO provider additions and removals, MCO network issues; makes recommendations for resolution. • Contacts providers to verify new workers' compensation patients are being accepted; tracks credentialing of MCO providers. • Communicates with injured workers relative to the provider pre-designation rules and procedures. • Maintains MCO matrix as to the status of client's respective MCO. • Communicates with clients relative to their MCO status. • Ensures claims management system parameters are set for MCO flags. • Responds to client and MCO covered injured workers' issues; communicates issues to upper management with solution recommendation as appropriate.
