About This Job The Backoffice Manager & Data Architect is responsible for the operational leadership, technical architecture, and data integrity of Axos Clearing’s back-office and post-trade platforms. The role combines hands-on data architecture leadership with ownership of critical clearing systems supporting settlement, balances, positions, tax lots, regulatory reporting, and downstream analytics. Backoffice Platform & Operations Management - Own the reliability and performance of clearing back-office and post-trade systems. - Lead and manage engineers and analysts supporting back-office services, batch jobs, and data pipelines. - Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for production and data issues. Data Architecture & SQL Ownership - Own end-to-end SQL design and implementation for clearing and back-office data platforms. - Design, author, and maintain production-grade SQL for balances, positions, tax lots, settlements, and reconciliation. - Optimize and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and batch workloads in production. - Define where logic belongs (SQL vs application vs pipeline) with accountability for correctness and performance. Databricks & Analytics Platform Leadership - Own architectural use of Databricks for analytics, reconciliation, and reporting. - Ensure consistent SQL standards and traceability across Databricks and operational databases. Microservices & Integration Architecture - Ensure efficient SQL access patterns across distributed systems. Governance, Risk, & Compliance - Ensure systems meet regulatory, audit, and data governance requirements.
