Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Centene Corporation

• Manages and contributes to the technical approach and decisions related to the configuration, automation, and operation of software and infrastructure services on the cloud platform • Designs, builds, and supports cloud infrastructure using infrastructure‑as‑code and automation practices • Partners closely with DevOps, Development, Network, and Security teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable cloud environments • Contributes to technical decisions related to the configuration of software and infrastructure services on the cloud platform • Builds and maintains cloud infrastructure using infrastructure‑as‑code practices • Automates the deployment, provisioning, and administration of cloud infrastructure and environments • Develops and implements monitoring solutions that give greater visibility into performance and reliability of cloud environments • Collaborates with Development, Network and Security groups and integrate their requirements in all environment build plans • Participates in the build and support of automated, cloud‑based environments and infrastructure • Develops and maintains CI/CD deployment configurations for new and existing infrastructure following established standards and best practices • Contributes to the design, build, and deployment of cloud applications for infrastructure automation • Delivers and supports continuous integration and delivery pipelines by enabling common DevSecOps tooling and automation in cloud environments • Provides technical guidance and knowledge sharing to peers as needed

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science)
  • 4 – 6 years of related experience
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Cloud Formation, Terraform
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with one or more of the following: programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Go and platform technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with networking concepts, firewall rules, and infrastructure troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of automation and scripting languages such as Shell, Python

Job Description: Position Summary As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will work within the team that is responsible for designing, building and maintaining the platform where AML RightSource services and applications are hosted. Our job is to ensure the platform is secure, scalable, maintainable and cost-efficient. In addition, the team is responsible for developing and maintaining the tools used by the other engineering teams to help them effectively build, deploy and monitor their services in production. In this role, you’ll get to work with a broad range of systems and technologies, make design/architecture decisions, define best practices, and work closely with developers and other engineers to build the right solutions. This is a remote-based role so no long commute! Technical Skills: We use various services within AWS to host our platform as well as using: - GitLab for CI/CD orchestration - Terraform for Infrastructure as Code - Kubernetes (EKS) for container orchestration - ArgoCD for cluster workload management - Prometheus for monitoring and observability - ElasticSearch and Splunk for log aggregation and search - And most of our services are written in Python This is a senior role therefore we are looking for someone that has a good breadth of experience in all or most of the above areas, and has an interest in learning new technologies, skills and techniques.
