Job Description

Static Ad Designer (Paid Social, DTC)

Homestead Studio

About the Role As a Paid Static Designer at Homestead, you design the ads that acquire customers. Every asset you create runs on Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and other paid channels, and every one of them is measured by whether it stops the scroll, drives the click, and converts the sale. You'll work directly with our Lead Multimedia Designer, Director of Design, Creative Strategists, and Account Managers to turn performance data and creative briefs into static ad visuals that hit at the intersection of brand and conversion. You're not just executing layouts, you're interpreting what's working in the account, understanding why a certain visual hook outperforms another, and designing the next round of iterations based on real results. You'll manage creative across a portfolio of DTC brands, which means adapting quickly between brand worlds while maintaining the quality and strategic thinking that makes each asset perform. The pace is fast, the feedback loop is tight, and the impact of your work is visible in the data every week. Who You Are You're a designer who understands that great ad creative isn't just aesthetically strong – it's strategically built. You know the difference between a design that wins awards and a design that wins customers, and you're energized by the challenge of doing both. You thrive on variety. One hour you're designing a bold promotional static for a supplements brand, the next you're iterating on a lifestyle-driven concept for a skincare line. You move fast without sacrificing quality, take feedback as fuel rather than friction, and genuinely enjoy seeing your work drive measurable results. You're also not waiting around for direction. When you see a creative trend taking off on a platform, you're already mocking something up. When performance data shows a visual angle is fatiguing, you're three variants deep before anyone asks. You bring ideas to the table, not just executions. Responsibilities - Design high-performing static ads for paid social channels across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and other platforms, balancing brand consistency with conversion-driven design principles - Translate creative briefs and performance data into effective ad visuals – you're not just designing to a spec, you're interpreting the strategy behind it - Iterate quickly based on feedback and data, developing new ad variants for ongoing creative testing and optimization across client accounts - Collaborate closely with Creative Strategists and Account Managers to understand what's working in the account and what visual direction to push next - Maintain brand consistency across multiple clients while ensuring enough creative variety to support meaningful testing - Contribute to brainstorms and creative concepting for campaigns, product launches, and new testing angles – your perspective on what will work visually is part of the strategic conversation - Stay current on paid social design trends, platform-specific requirements, and ad format best practices, and bring that knowledge into your work proactively - Organize and maintain creative assets in Figma for efficient workflow, handoff, and team collaboration - Use AI tools (we use Claude) to support your creative workflow – research, concepting, competitive analysis, and finding faster ways to move from brief to finished asset Qualifications - 2+ years of experience designing paid social creative, preferably for eCommerce or DTC brands - Strong portfolio showcasing static ad creative that balances brand storytelling with direct response performance – we want to see work that was built to convert, not just to look good - Proficiency in Figma (required) and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite - Understanding of ad specs and platform nuances across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest - Data-informed mindset – you understand how creative impacts performance metrics and you're motivated by testing and iteration, not just final deliverables - Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills – you can manage work across multiple brands without things slipping - Ability to take creative direction and feedback, incorporate it quickly, and maintain quality under tight timelines Bonus Points: - Agency experience designing across multiple DTC/eCommerce brands simultaneously - Experience designing for direct response and performance marketing specifically, not just brand or organic social - Familiarity with creative analytics tools like Motion or Foreplay - Hands-on experience with AI design or workflow tools (Nano Banana, Claude, or similar) to support concepting and production - Motion design or basic video editing skills (After Effects, CapCut, or similar) - Experience working within Asana or similar project management tools in a production environment Other Perks - Diverse and forward-thinking environment - Exciting career growth opportunities - A company culture that values freedom, responsibility, and impact-driven work Additional Information 📌 This is a fully remote role. Candidates must be able to work standard business hours (9:00 AM–5:00 PM) in ET, CT, MT, or PT time zones. Homestead Studio is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or genetic information.
