Job Description

Head of Futures

Prop Firm Match Global – FZCO

About Prop Firm Match Global FZCO Prop Firm Match Global FZCO is the leading platform for discovering, comparing, and selecting proprietary trading firms. We help traders make confident, informed decisions through side-by-side comparisons, verified reviews, and data-backed insights. The futures category has grown to represent ~50% of company revenue and has significant upside. However, it lacks dedicated ownership, domain expertise, and innovation. This role exists to fix that. Role Mission The Head of Futures owns the end-to-end development, quality, and growth of the futures category at PFM, ensuring it becomes the most trusted, accurate, and insightful resource for futures prop trading globally. This role is responsible for setting the standard for how futures firms are researched, compared, presented, and understood -  combining deep domain expertise with strong analytical thinking and the ability to translate insights into high-impact content and product improvements. You are not here to contribute. You are here to own, elevate, and define the category.

Job Requirements

  • Performance Objectives (6–12 months)
  • 1. Build the most trusted and accurate futures knowledge layer (first 90 days → ongoing)
  • Establish PFM as the most reliable source of truth for futures prop trading.
  • Key outcomes:
  • ▸ Deeply research futures prop firms (rules, pricing models, payouts, nuances)
  • ▸ Identify inconsistencies, hidden constraints, and edge cases others miss
  • ▸ Create internal standards for how firms are evaluated and compared
  • ▸ Eliminate inaccuracies, gaps, and low-quality content
  • Success looks like: PFM becomes the reference point users trust for futures information -  not just another comparison site.
  • 2. Own and elevate all futures content and narrative (first 60–90 days → ongoing)
  • Turn insights into high-quality, high-impact content across all channels.
  • Key outcomes:
  • ▸ Own all futures-related content (SEO, social, educational)
  • ▸ Define tone, depth, and quality bar for futures content
  • ▸ Translate complex trading concepts into clear, actionable insights
  • ▸ Improve performance of content through clarity, authority, and differentiation
  • Success looks like: Content is not generic -  it is sharp, trusted, and clearly better than competitors.
  • 3. Redefine how futures firms are presented and compared on the platform (quarter 1–2)
  • Move from static comparison to insight-driven product experience.
  • Key outcomes:
  • ▸ Improve how firms are structured, compared, and displayed on the site
  • ▸ Introduce clearer frameworks, filters, and comparison logic
  • ▸ Identify what actually matters to traders -  and reflect that in the product
  • ▸ Work with Product to implement improvements
  • Success looks like: Users understand differences faster, trust the platform more, and make decisions with confidence.
  • 4. Drive continuous innovation in data, insights, and presentation (ongoing)
  • Push the category forward -  don’t maintain it.
  • Key outcomes:
  • ▸ Identify new ways to present data, comparisons, and insights
  • ▸ Experiment with formats (data layers, breakdowns, educational content)
  • ▸ Introduce ideas competitors are not thinking about
  • ▸ Constantly question “is this the best way to show this?”
  • Success looks like: PFM is ahead of the market in how futures information is structured and consumed.
  • 5. Take full ownership of the futures category performance (ongoing)
  • Be accountable for outcomes, not output.
  • Key outcomes:
  • ▸ Monitor performance of futures category (traffic, engagement, conversions)
  • ▸ Identify gaps and opportunities for growth
  • ▸ Prioritize work based on impact, not activity
  • ▸ Act as the internal authority on everything futures-related
  • Success looks like: Clear growth in traffic, engagement, and conversion driven by better insights and execution.
  • Required Qualifications | Must-have
  • 1. Domain expertise (non-negotiable)
  • ▸ Deep understanding of futures trading and/or prop trading ecosystem
  • ▸ Strong grasp of futures firm mechanics: rules, funding models, payouts, restrictions
  • ▸ Ability to spot nuances and edge cases others miss
  • 2. Analytical and research capability
  • ▸ Strong ability to break down complex systems and compare them logically
  • ▸ Experience working with structured data, comparisons, or research-heavy environments
  • ▸ High attention to detail and accuracy
  • 3. Content and communication
  • ▸ Ability to turn complex insights into clear, high-quality written content
  • ▸ Strong writing skills -  clarity, structure, and precision over fluff
  • ▸ Experience creating educational, SEO, or analytical content
  • 4. Product thinking
  • ▸ Ability to think beyond content -  into how information is structured and presented
  • ▸ Experience working with product teams or influencing product decisions
  • ▸ Understanding of user behavior and decision-making
  • 5. Ownership mindset
  • ▸ High ownership -  does not wait for direction
  • ▸ Strong judgment: knows what matters and what doesn’t
  • ▸ Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building from scratch
  • Nice-to-have
  • ▸ Active presence in trading communities (especially X / Twitter)
  • ▸ Experience with prop firm evaluations or trading personally
  • ▸ Experience in fintech, trading platforms, or data-driven products
  • ▸ Familiarity with SEO and content performance metrics
  • Final note (important)
  • If someone reads this and thinks:
  • “I can help with content” → wrong candidate
  • If they think:
  • “I know exactly what’s broken in how futures firms are presented and I can fix it” → right candidate.
  • Hiring stages
  • We keep the process structured, transparent, and respectful of your time. At each stage, you will gain a clearer view of the role, the team, and what success would look like at PFM.
  • Application screening
  • We review your CV and relevant experience to understand your technical background, leadership scope, product environment fit, and overall alignment with the role. At this stage, you also get an early indication of whether the position is likely to match your profile and seniority.
  • Insight & Thinking Questionnaire (written stage)
  • You will complete a short self-paced questionnaire designed to help us better understand your background, leadership approach, communication style, and overall fit for the role. This stage gives you a simple way to share your thinking in writing before investing time in interviewsղ
  • Discovery interview with the HR team
  • Shortlisted candidates will join a conversation with Lilit Y., our HR Generalist, focused on your background, communication style, and motivation for the role. This is also an opportunity to understand how you operate in collaborative, ownership-driven environments, and to give you a clear overview of the company, expectations, and culture.
  • Deep-Dive Interview (Domain + Thinking)
  • At this stage, we go deeper into your understanding of futures trading and prop firm mechanics. The conversation focuses on how you analyze firms, how you identify meaningful differences, and how you structure insights beyond surface-level knowledge. The goal is to assess both your domain expertise and your ability to think critically about how the category should be shaped.
  • Practical Task (Paid, Real Scenario)
  • You will complete a paid, real-world task based on actual futures prop firm scenarios. The exercise will involve analyzing and comparing firms and proposing improvements to how Prop Firm Match presents and structures this information. This stage is designed to evaluate your analytical depth, judgment, and ability to translate thinking into practical improvements.
  • Leadership interview
  • The final stage is a conversation with leadership focused on ownership, standards, and long-term alignment. We will explore how you think about building and leading a category, how you make decisions in ambiguous environments, and how you would elevate the futures vertical over time. This is also a mutual discussion to ensure strong alignment on expectations, impact, and direction.
  • Offer stage
  • If there’s a strong mutual fit, we move into an informal alignment discussion followed by a formal written offer, ensuring full transparency and giving you the space to ask questions and make an informed decision.

About CoLab At CoLab, we help mechanical engineering teams bring life-changing products to market years sooner. CoLab is the AI platform for driving stronger engineering decisions. Every design review in CoLab builds a knowledge repository of design feedback, decisions, and lessons learned - which AI agents draw from to flag issues on future designs before they compound. The more your team works in CoLab, the smarter it gets and the faster you arrive at the ideal design. Companies like Ford, Komatsu, and Johnson Controls use CoLab to catch issues earlier, eliminate rework cycles, and bring products to market faster. Founded in St. John’s, Newfoundland, CoLab has grown quickly from our first customer in 2019 to a rapidly scaling company. We’ve recently been recognized on Deloitte’s Fast 50™ and Fast 500™, and named a Canadian company to watch by The Globe and Mail and Financial Post. About the Role You’ll be the first line of legal support for CoLab’s go-to-market engine - negotiating SaaS contracts and partnering closely with Sales and Security to keep deals moving and data protected. This is a hands-on role where you’ll own both the legal work and the operational systems that drive it. That means helping build scalable contract workflows, and taking pride in making sure nothing slips through the cracks. Our Ideal Candidate You’re a commercially minded lawyer who wants to be close to the business—not just advising from the sidelines. You have experience negotiating SaaS contracts with customers of all sizes, including large enterprise customers, deep knowledge of data privacy, and get energized by solving for speed and precision. You bring the same level of care to helping us build and update our processes and workflows as you do redlining a DPA. You understand that processes are part of the product—and you don’t consider operational rigor to be a chore. You’ll thrive here if you: - Are a strong communicator who can hold your own with customers, Sales and Security—without ego and with respect - Primarily see yourself as a partner to Sales and Security - Are comfortable thinking out of the box: challenging assumptions, doing things differently and taking qualified risks - Are energized by a fast-moving environment where you’ll be left to own your work - Curious and able to keep up with our rapidly changing and innovative technology What you’ll do: - Lead and manage SaaS commercial contract negotiations including DPAs - Lead the intake, tracking, and reporting of legal agreements - Lead and improve contract operations: help design a system for managing negotiated contracts at scale - Partner closely with Sales and Security on contract reviews and data protection terms - Flag and escalate legal or commercial risks to the General Counsel as needed - Assist General Counsel with other legal work as required Who you are: - Extensive legal experience, bonus points if you have in-house counsel experience - Demonstrated expertise in negotiating complex customer contracts, with a strong ability to drive favorable terms while balancing commercial objectives and risk. - Familiarity with data privacy laws across US, Canada, and Europe (GDPR, PIPEDA, etc.) - Strong attention to detail and follow-through—especially on the operational side - Comfortable using legal-focused software applications to track and manage contract activity and negotiations - Experience in other areas of law (particularly governance, employment, intellectual property) is useful Equity Note Frequently cited statistics show that people who identify with historically marginalized groups are likely to apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. We encourage you to help us break that statistic and apply even if you don’t meet every single qualification—your potential is what matters most to us.
